The PokerStars Sunday Million 13th Anniversary event gave five players a half-million dollar score after a five-way deal was struck.

One of the largest prize pools in PokerStars Sunday Million history could have led to a million dollar score for one player, but the final five players apparently had other ideas. With over $2.8 million still to be awarded, the final players in the PokerStars Sunday Million 13th Anniversary event agreed to a deal that saw each of them lock up a minimum of $500,000.

Once the deal was agreed to, China’s ‘wangli0402‘ went on to eliminate the other four players to claim victory and the $50,000 that was left to play for to give him a $611,944 payday. Germany’s ‘xbambi‘ earned $550,689 for his runner-up finish. Rounding out the podium finishers, Romanian ‘idzake‘ took home $509,664.

The biggest score at the final table actually belonged to fifth place finisher ‘t4rz4n_21‘. The Greek player, who was chip leader when chop discussions began, banked $625,073 before running into the buzzsaw that was ‘wangli0402’.

Current #1-ranked Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth finished 6,967th for $508.20. He was one of five players in the PocketFives top 10 to pick up a cash in this event. Roman ‘RomeOpro’ Romanovsky finished 9,481st ($431.57), ‘Lena900‘ ended up in 2,673rd place ($825.97), fellow Swede ‘C. Darwin2‘ had the best finish of the group, coming in at 1,607th ($972.46) while Patrick ‘pads1161’ Leonard wound up in 2,082nd place ($972.46).

Former World Series of Poker Main Event champion Pius Heinz finished 64th for $11,090.35.

The two-day event, which had the traditional $215 buy-in, attracted 61,342 players to surpass the $10 million guarantee by $2,268,400. Next Sunday’s Sunday Million returns to a $109 buy-in with a $1 million guarantee.
