This week's Podcast features an interview with Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-NA), concerning recently introduced legislation that would legalize online poker within the U.S.

Congresswoman Shelley Berkley has been a Las Vegas resident for over four decades, and is currently in her fifth term as a U.S. Representative serving her fifth term. Rep. Berkley will talk about legislation she recently introduced that calls for a one-year study on the affects online poker would have on the U.S. market.

As most of our listeners know, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was attached to the Safe Ports Act and passed into law late last year, prohibiting financial institutions from doing business with online gaming sites. However, online poker could receive a special carve out if bills introduced by Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL) and Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) are passed into law.

With various forms of legislation gaining momentum in the U.S. House of Representatives, Podcast listeners will want to learn more about our elected officials' proposals. Rep. Berkley will explain the differences in various bills, and will provide a possible timeline for how long it would take those bills to reach a vote in the House. We encourage our listeners to visit Rep. Berkley's website at http://berkley.house.gov/index.html.

This week's show also features an interview with www.plusev.net creator Bobby Crosby. The +EV online comic strip currently has over 5,000 readers, and focuses on the fictional lives of an online poker player named Corbin. In his interview, Bobby will talk about some of the feedback fans of the comic have given him, as well as his plans to take PlusEV.Net to the 2008 WSOP.
