For the last three weeks Fabrizio ‘SixthSenS19’ Gonzalez has been sitting pretty atop the PocketFives Rankings and watched as the players below him were unable to mount much of challenge. That’s no longer the case.

Gonzalez is still the #1-ranked player in the world, but Alex ‘alexd2’ Dimitrov moved up from #3 to #2 and is closing in on top spot.

Dimitrov took down two PokerStars tournaments last Tuesday. The first was the Hot $215 where he walked away with $10285 and 231.95 PLB points. He followed that up immediately with a win in the Six Max $109 NLHE Hyper Turbo for $4,663 and 155.52 points. Two days later he finished as runner-up in the PokerStars Hot $162 for $4,708/119.03. His fourth, and final, qualifying cash of the week came on Sunday when he finished second in the 888poker $50,000 Turbo Mega Deep for $8,780/146.71. The big week moved him into second for the first time in his career.

Gonzalez now sits 822.92 points ahead of Dimitrov, but recorded no qualifying cashes during the week.

The gap between #2 and #3 isn’t nearly as wide. Joao Mathias ‘joaomathias’ Baumgarten, who was #2 last week, dropped to #3 but sits just 44.63 points behind Dimitrov. Baumgarten had two partypoker High Roller scores last week that allowed him to keep Dimitrov within striking distance. The first was a third place finish on Thursday in the $50,000 High Roller for $8,323/135.39. On Sunday he managed a seventh place finish in the Super High Roller for $6,638//119.49.

Spots #4 and #5 continue to belong to the top-ranked players in Sweden, ‘C Darwin2’ and ‘lena900’. ‘C Darwin2’, who was #1 in late-September, had two five-figure scores this past Sunday. His first came in the Hot $215 on PokerStars. He beat out 503 other players to win $17,942 and 317.49 points. he then finished third in the partypoker High Roller for $6,180/117.39 and then wrapped up his day by winning the partypoker Super High Roller for $47,938 and 384.06 points.

His fellow countryman ‘lena900’ booked four wins this past week to allow him to keep pace with the rest of the field. He started the week off with a win in the Winamax High Roller for $7,492/155.92. He then won the partypoker Heavyweight: Uppercut for $9,595/223.61 on Saturday. On Monday he won the PokerStars $215 Six Max Monday for $14,825/286.01 and the Hot $109 for $8,472/218.17.

The only other change in the top 10 came from Joannes ‘Greenstone25’ Korsar who moved up to #9 after swapping spots with Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao, who now sits at #10. Korsar is the fourth Swedish player in the top 10 while Simao, who signed on as a partypoker Ambassador this week, is the second Brazilian.
