How good are things going for ‘C Darwin2‘, the #1 ranked online poker player in the world, right now? This past week he managed to hang on to the top spot in the PocketFives rankings despite not recording a single qualifying cash.

‘C Darwin2’ has now been on top of the PocketFives Rankings for eight straight weeks even though he took the last week off. He might have earned that rest though. His last recorded cash was a $25,188 score in the partypoker Heavyweight Main Event on August 22. That earned him 387.3 PLB points – his third largest tally ever.

Joao Mathias ‘joaomathias’ Baumgarten was unable to take advantage of ‘C Darwin2”s downtime this week. Playing only one day this week, the Brazilian recorded five cashes, none good enough to add to his points total.

While the top two spots were largely inactive, Bulgaria’sAlex ‘alexd2’ Dimitrov made a major push towards #1, moving up to #3 from #12. Dimitrov cashed 13 times, including two that added to his PLB total. Two of his cashes were wins while another two were runner-up performances. Only two of his scores counted towards his PLB total. The first came on August 28 when he won the $215 Sunday Supersonic on PokerStars for $29,438 and 419.39 PLB points. He followed that up the next day with a runner-up finish in the WPN Online Super Series $300,000 Guaranteed for $46,867.95 and 418.46 PLB points. He’s now just 258.94 points behind Baumgarten but still 924.39 points behind ‘C Darwin2’.

Another big mover this week was former #1-ranked Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao. The Brazilian, who lost his #1 ranking to ‘C Darwin2’ back in July, moved up from #12 to #4. Simao cashed 13 times during the week, four of which added to his PLB total. He finished fourth in the PokerStars Omania High Roller for $4,153 and 91.1 points on August 24. That same day hetook down the $320 Six Handed NLH event on PokerStars for $4,740 and 100 points. The next day he won the $1,050 buy-in Thursday Thrill on PokerStars for $29,130 and a whopping 393.70 points. He round out the week by finishing seventh in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up for $6,474 and 167.2 points.

The other big mover this past week as Johannes ‘Greenstone25’ Korsar. The Swedish pro rose from #10 to #6 after one of his best weeks ever. Korsar won a $55 six-handed NLHE event on August 25 ($2,535/114.66) on PokerStars, the $320 six-handed NLHE event on PokerStars ($5,297/116.19), the partypoker High Roller ($11,049/201.25) and then finished third in the $1,050 Sunday Grand on PokerStars ($23,543/234.78).

The only player to drop out of the top 10 this week was Canadian Jimmy ‘JMolloy’ Molloy. He fell from #9 to #11 despite a week in which he won $77,501 and earned 497.78 PLB points.
