'C Darwin2' surpasses 11,000 PLB points yet again in route to retaining his #1 ranking.

The was very little movement in the PocketFives.com Worldwide top 10 this week. Nine of the ten players remain the same and seven of the ten players held fast in their position.

Still, with a commanding lead, Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2’ maintains his reign at the world’s #1. He had a massive week with three five-figure scores including a fourth-place finish in the PokerStars Sunday High Roller for over $21,000, a win in the 888poker Volcano for over $17,000 and another final table appearance in the PokerStars Turbo Series Event #22, cashing for over $24,000. As a result, ‘C Darwin2’ joined some of his fellow Swedes in surpassing the $8 million in lifetime earnings mark while maintaining more than 10,000 PLB points.

The #2 ranked player, ‘lena900’ has done something that no player has been able to do for weeks upon weeks – come within 1000 PLB points of ‘C Darwin2’. ‘lena900’ finished in sixth-place in Event #3 of the PokerStars Turbo Series for $16,726 and 276.66 PLB points. This score, with a combination of aging results, puts ‘lena900’ roughly 900 points behind the leader and with the PokerStars Turbo Series slated to continue through March 4, there will be ample opportunity for everyone in the top 10 to collect big time scores.

Andreas ‘probirs’ Nemeth, like everyone in the top 6, holds his position at #3. His PLB score slipped considerably this week as he hasn’t fired up the online client since February 11. He holds a 112 PLB point lead over the #4 ranked Steven ‘SvZff’ van Zadelhoff, which is very tenuous because…he’s back!

After a month-long hiatus, Malta’s former #1 ranked player in the world van Zadelhoff was seen back on the online grind this week. Well, it wasn’t a grind exactly as he recorded a total of only eight cashes and none of them actually qualified for PLB points. He did, however, cash in three of the PokerStars Turbo Series events and, in total, pulled in roughly $5,700. Should he opt to get back to playing a full schedule, he could be in for another run at the top spot in the next few weeks.

A big-time score helped #5 ranked ‘hellohellohello’ add to his total PLB score. Russia’s #1 online player won the bwin.com Sunday Major High Roller for $50,845 and 447.21 PLB points. That puts him a scant 43 points behind van Zadelhoff and in position to make a major move should he find the winner’s circle again.

Another player poised to make a move is Roman ‘Romeopro’ Romanovsky who holds on to the #6 spot. ‘Romeopro’ also took down a tournament on bwin.com, banking over $26,000 for his win in a Sunday Major High Roller. His PLB total puts him right in the thick of the middle of the top 10, only roughly 300 points behind the third-ranked Nemeth.

Ramiro ‘rayastar’ Petrone climbs the ranks again this week, touching a new career high of #7. The pro from Buenos Aires added a pair of PLB qualifying scores to his total including a runner-up finish in the PokerStars Big $215 on February 20 for over $6,000. In order for Petone to move up, ‘European’ had to move down. Even though he slipped to the #8 rank this week, he still had a very lucrative week. ‘European’ was the winner of the Event #26 of the PokerStars Turbo Series for over $58,000.

It was a really light week for Team partypoker member Patrick ‘pleno1’ Leonard, who maintains his #9 ranking this week.  Only six total cashes on Sunda, February 18 added to his bankroll but none of them added to his PLB score.

Finally, Sweden’s ’Sheater’ rejoins the top 10 this week. He put in a deep grind this week, seemingly playing everything he could and getting rewarded by outright winning Event #12 of the PokerStard Turbo Series for $49,217 and a healthy 560.58 PLB points. The score puts him back in the top 10, only 24 points behind Leonard.

Other notable moves in the top 25 included Uruguay’s ‘kofi89’ leaping into the #13 spot, a career high for him, on the back of a $179,000 score that netted him 1000.00 PLB points.
