‘CloverSparklesFartShovels’ keeps the top spot of the Nevada online poker rankings for the second month in a row

After starting out the new year on top of the PocketFives Nevada Online Poker Rankings, ‘CloverSparklesFartShovels’ holds on to the top spot for the second month in a row. He finishes February with a sizable lead over the rest of the field, almost 140 points ahead of his closest competitor.

‘CloverSparklesFartShovels’ had another big month on the virtual felt, exclusively on WSOP.com. He took down nine tournaments this month over varied stakes. His biggest cash of the month came when he bested 76 players in the $3,000 GTD nightly No Limit Hold’em with rebuys and add-ons for $1,556. That was a $30 buy-in and he can also be found cashing in the high stakes Sunday majors on WSOP.com, but he doesn’t discriminate against the low-stakes tournaments either.

On the first day of February, he took down his first win of the month. He won a $5 nightly tournament for $56. That same day, he also made two other final tables for larger scores and has shown a propensity to play whatever stakes are running on any given day.

Sitting behind ‘CloverSparklesFartShovels,’ is Ian ‘APokerJoker2’ Steinman. Steinman finishes the shortest month of the year ranked second in the Silver State, jumping up two spots from his fourth place finish in January.

Steinman had a big month of his own to leapfrog two players in the standings. He won seven events, but his biggest score of the month came in the form of a fourth place finish in the Sunday Reloader on WSOP.com for $1,200.

Steinman sat atop this leaderboard for most of the first half of 2016 and is on the verge of jumping back into the top spot with another strong month or two.

Jed ‘JCHAK’ Hoffman slid from the second spot to the third spot, while ‘ChaosTheory’ and ‘Power’ each moved up a spot to round out the top five.

Mark ‘wsopfreezer’ Johns spent almost the entire second half of 2016 in the top spot, but has found himself sliding down the rankings in 2017. Johns had the biggest drop this month. He slid three spots to move out of the top five and finish the month in sixth.

It seems like his slide in the ranking is coming from some time spent away from the virtual felt and decline in volume from last year. Even with the drop in the rankings, Johns still put up a respectable month on the felt. In what seemed to be a lackluster month in terms of volume, Johns still managed to win four events and cashed for $1,023 in the $3,000 GTD nightly No limit Hold’em with rebuys and add-ons on WSOP.com.

Johns was the biggest drop in the rankings in sixth place, but Bobby ‘bcm4924’ McLawhorn made the biggest jump in the rankings. He moved from 10th in January to finishing February in seventh. Thanks to a whopping 60 cashes, McLawhorn finds himself trending in the right direction after being a fixture in the top five last year.

Last month’s lone newcomer to the top 10, Thomas ‘respeckt’ Wheeler, dropped a spot this month. He cracked the leaderboard in January with in eighth, but finishes February in ninth place. He finishes 104 points behind Daniel ‘voff’ Deveau, who sits in eighth place for February.

The lone newcomer to the February rankings is ‘DatDude.’ He rounds out the top 10 spots this month, finishing in 10th place with just shy of 1,266 points. ‘DatDude’ isn’t so much a newcomer as he is a returning face. He was a fixture in the second half of the top 10 for most of 2016 before dropping out of the top 10 in October.

This is his first appearance in the top 10 in a few months and with several players within striking distance of his spot, it will take another good month from him on the felt to keep him in the top 10.
