The United Kingdom is home to a poker-crazed culture and the world’s all-time leading online tournament casher, Chris ‘moorman1’ Moorman. He might be the big name, but the top 10 for the U.K. is filled with some of the world’s best and others who are on the verge of their first major splash.
The current #1 in the U.K. is Conor ‘1_conor_b_1’ Beresford. In 2016, Beresford made it as high as #2 in the world and passed the $5,000,000 earnings mark this week.
Patrick ‘pleno1’ Leonard is #2. Leonard is on the verge of hitting $4,000,000 in cashes and has a productive PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker to thank for that. In the $25,000 buy-in Event #66 (Eight Max High Roller), Leonard placed fifth out of 149 entrants and earned $275,473.
Leonard also does a lot of damage in the live scene as does #3 Ludovic ‘ludovi333’ Geilich. Though he has been putting in less volume in October, Geilich’s win on the September 24 $109 Bounty Builder earned him 381.58 PLB points which has kept him near the top.
#4 ranked Oscar ‘MendaLerenda’ Serradell recently took down a sizable win of his own. Serradell shipped October 15th’s Sunday Cool Down Turbo on PokerStars for $21,251 and 369.59 PLB points.
Spots #5 and #6 belong to David ‘davaman’ Lopez and ‘carpediem200.’ Lopez is currently at his career-high peak on the Worldwide Rankings at #40. That ranking is set to rise higher should Lopez have more days like October 24 when he won the 888poker Monsoon and PokerStars Big 109.
Moorman comes in at #7, with a heavy volume being put in during October. Should his pace continue in the short term, there is a high chance of Moorman moving higher in no time.
Only $100,000 away from breaking the $3 million barriers is #8 Owain ‘sngwonder’ Carey. During partypoker Powerfest, Carey won a $50,000 guaranteed High Roller event for $21,206 and picked up 322.49 PLB points in the process.
