Fabrizio ‘SixthSenSe19’ Gonzalez held off a charging ‘lena900’ to stay ranked #1 in the world this week

Fabrizio ‘SixthSenSe19’ Gonzalez regained the #1 spot in the PocketFives Rankings last week and then went about making sure he did everything in his power to stay there this week. Gonzalez had two scores big enough this week to add to his PLB total, including the second biggest PLB Points grab of his career.

Gonzalez finished second in the 888poker Super XL Series High Roller for $62,930 and 420.38 points, second only to the 683.22 he earned for finishing runner-up in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker PLO High Roller last September. On Sunday, Gonzalez finished 12th in the PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker High Roller for $17,534 and 287.09 points. Those two scores were enough to hold off the competition for at least another week and leaves Gonzalez 280.05 points ahead of #2-ranked ‘lena900‘.

When ‘lena900’ woke up Wednesday morning, he may have expected to see his name at number one. After posting an astonishing five qualifying cashes this past week, the former #1-ranked player might have thought he had locked up top spot for a third time. Last Wednesday he finished eighth in the 888poker Super XL High Roller for $12,180 and 182.98 points and then won the partypoker Powerfest High Roller for $15,640/223.61 points. He then won a TCOOP event for $27,440/438.77, a PokerStars Big $109 for $12,166/267.58 and rounded out the week with a runner-up finish in the Winamax High Roller for $9,715/162.65. In total he added 1,275.59 points to his PLB total, but couldn’t close the gap as a number of early 2016 cashes fell off of his total.

The rest of the top five remains unchanged with ‘C Darwin2‘ in third, Alex ‘alexd2’ Dimitrov in fourth and Anton ‘AnteSvante’ Wigg in fifth.Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren andAndras ‘probirs’ Nemeth swapped spots with Berggren dropping to seventh and Nemeth moving up to sixth.

The single biggest mover of the week though is Czech resident ‘pappadogg‘, who rose all the way up from 25th to eighth after an incredible week that saw him add 1,325.39 to his total as well as over $100,000 in winnings. ‘pappadogg’ started the week off by finishing on top of the partypoker PowerFest High Roller for $55,485 and 547.73 PLB points – his highest single score ever. He then finished runner-up in a PokerStars Hot $109 for $8,976/178.01, 11th in the 888poker Super XL Series High Roller for $7,105/151.16, first in the PokerStars.fr Sunday Six Max for $8,276/206.81 and then runner-up in the PokerStars Hot $215 for $16,897/241.69.
