'C Darwin2' surpasses 11,000 PLB points yet again in route to retaining his #1 ranking.

It’s another week in the #1 spot for the Swedish destroyer ‘C Darwin2’. With a PLB point total of 10,674.85, the online legend continues to hold a massive lead of over 1100 points to whoever would challenge him in the #2 spot. His lead though, as wide as it is, is not insurmountable. Sure, it’s tough to pick up that many qualifying cashes in a week, but every week old scores decrease in value and this week ‘C Darwin2’ failed to add any new meaningful PLB points to his total. So if that continues, it may open the door for a guy like Andreas ‘probirs’ Nemeth.

Last week ‘lena900’ had an amazing run to leap into the number two spot. This week it’s Nemeth’s turn as the Hungarian grinder went on an absolutely astounding heater, crushing event after event. He pillaged the prize pools of partypoker’s Powerfest this week, scoring three victories. The first, in Event #25-M brought him $82,010. Then one day later he won two events on the same day. Event #31-H saw him take home $47,101 and the very next event, Event #32-M had him winning $20,840. In total, Nemeth added 1679.46 PLB points to his total – a massive amount in a week. Now, he sits at a career-high ranking of #2 and is currently the player with the best chance to take a shot at ascending to #1.

Steven ‘SvZff’ van Zadelhoff remains in the #3 spot, even though he’s been keeping away from the online tables. He is, however, making an appearance “down under” at the Aussie Millions. He managed a runner-up in Event #15 of that series for $24,229 but that’s not going to help his online stats. Hopefully, we’ll see him back on the online grind soon.

It’s an unusual sight to see ‘lena900’ outside of the top 3. He spent months in the top 3 at the end of 2017 and into 2018, even making a massive leap last week to return to #2. But after Nemeth’s amazing heater and some aging results, the Swedish superstar slips to #4. He may not remain at #4 long though, he has plenty of points to rejoin the top 3, lagging behind van Zadelhoff by only around 122 points.

Russia’s ‘hellohellohello’ remains at #5 this week but added on heaps of PLB points by earning four qualifying scores. The most impressive of his cashes this week was his runner-up finish in Powerfest Event #26-H for $103,381. The six-figure score was nearly a career-high score for him (just shy by roughly $700), and 471.16 PLB points.

The rest of the top 10 all have new rankings this week. Charging up the charts is Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao at #6. The partypoker ambassador is certainly enjoying the online site he represents scoring three victories on it this week. The Brazilian surged past $6.5 million in lifetime earnings this week after his victory in Powerfest Event #32-H for $50,470.

One of the most significant jumps this week comes from Ukraine’s Roman ‘Romeopro’ Romanovsky who re-joins the top 10 at #7 after being ranked #15 last week. He did his damage on a number of online sites, earning qualifying cashes on 888poker (XL Blizzard), bwin.com (Powerfest) and Winamax. In total, he had seven qualifying cashes for over 1750 PLB points. Should he keep grinding like he did this week, Romanovsky has a shot at eclipsing his previous career-high ranking of #3.

The dynamic Swedish duo of Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren and ‘Sheater’ stayed in tandem again this week. The pair of players, as they seemingly have for weeks now, traded places in the rankings as well. Berggren, at #8, now has the PLB point edge on ‘Sheater’, at #9, when last week the roles were reversed.

Finally, Russian ‘josef_shvejk’ slipped two spots to #10 this week. Despite his overall PLB score increasing, with help of three qualifying cashes, the fact that everyone in the top 10’s points elevated by even more, due to heavy volume during Powerfest, contributed to his fall in the rankings.

Other notable moves in the top 25 include Canada’s Chris ‘Apotheosis’ Kruk (#20) and the UK’s Jonathan ‘proudflop’ Proudfoot (#25) rejoining the top 25 while Gary ‘quiditbear’ Hasson and Kenny ‘SpaceyFCB’ Hallaert slip just outside of it.
