Argentina’s live tournament regs have crushed 2017 with Ivan Luca, WSOP bracelet winner Andreas Korn and partypoker Live MILLIONS champion Maria Lampropulos among them. The online contingent is strong as well with kofl89 holding down the #27 spot in the world and the #1 spot in his homeland.
‘kofl89’ recently crossed the $2 million mark in online earnings and had a strong November campaign. He closed out the month by winning the $530 PokerStars Bounty Builder for $23,355 and found another ‘W’ in the $215 No Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Sunday Supersonic. That score was worth $8,208.
Sitting at #2 in Argentina is Ramiro ‘rayastar’ Petrone, who is also #37 in the world. Petrone is on the cusp of cracking 6,000 PLB points and winning the partypoker $200,000 guaranteed partypoker High Roller for $21,993 (334.66 PLB points) on December 10 helped with his point total. A gold medal in the December 4 partypoker Uppercut added $9,425 more to his account.
Sitting with 5,121.85 PLB points at #3 is Rodrigo ‘sonmonedas’ Perez. The most recent victory for Perez was on November 11 when he shipped the $50,000 guaranteed partypoker High Roller for 223.61 and $10,464. Perez is currently #74 in the world.
‘OMGpou‘ chimes in at #4. This player has yet to get things going in December but in November, they won the Big $109 on PokerStars and are currently sitting on 4,676.77 PLB points.
#5 on the list is Leandro ‘leitalopez’ Bustillo, who is coming off his fourth-highest career score. Bustillo won the PokerStars Super Tuesday this week for $39,703 and a whopping 447.21 PLB points. On November 2, Bustillo notched a win in the Big $33.
The two players at #6 and #7 are neck-and-neck. Ivan ‘ivilchez8’ Vilchez and ‘regdedonkas’ are separated by only seven points. Both players are approaching 3,500 PLB points with ‘regdedonkas’ cashing everything in their path while Vilchez has put in less volume as of late.
Cristian ‘progre69’ Sampaoli reached a career-high of #10 earlier in 2017 and is #8 in Argentina. The last result of 100 points for Sampaoli was on November 12 when he took care of business in winning the $109 Progressive KO Six Max on PokerStars.
The final two spots in the top 10 belong to Christian ‘chry1982’ Sare and ‘rojostars.’ Sare won a handful tournaments in October but is yet to get on track over the last two months. ‘Rojostars’ recently added volume after taking time off the online grind for most of October and November.
