Ever since Fabrizio ‘SixthSense19’ Gonzalez dropped out of the PocketFives Rankings top five, those spots have been held entirely by Swedish players. That’s not the case anymore though as Russian pro and former #1-ranked ‘veeea‘ moved up to #3. The only two players higher than him are ‘lena900‘ and #1-ranked ‘C Darwin2‘ – both Swedes.

Moving from #8 to #3 in a single week isn’t easy. ‘Veeea’ did it thanks to three big cashes in a single week and a Spanish vacation for the Swedes. On August 19, ‘veeea’ won the partypoker High Roller for $8,775 and 144.91 PLB points. The next day he finished seventh in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $39,036/489.11 and then second in the partypoker High Roller for $14,992/208.63. All told he earned almost 843 PLB points on the week and now finds himself just 586.91 points out of first.

Top-ranked ‘C Darwin2’ held on to the #1 spot even though he didn’t play in a single online tournament. His last qualifying cash came on August 7 when he won the partypoker High Roller for $31,273 and 409.27 points. He now leads #2-ranked ‘lena900’ by just 204.3 points. ‘Lena900’ followed a similar schedule as ‘C Darwin2’ and hasn’t played anything since August 14.

It’s not some sort of protest by the Swedes though, none of top five from last week recorded a single qualifying cash as they’ve been in Barcelona playing in the PokerStars Championship Barcelona events.

One player who is not at PSC Barcelona and used the last week to make up ground is former #1-ranked Nicolas ‘PokerKaiser’ Fierro. The Chilean picked up just over 351 points via three qualifying cashes this week. He moved back into the top ten, going from #11 to #9.
