'kofi89' put together a dominant month to win the October PLB race.

The #1-ranked player in Uruguay also topped the October PLB race. ‘kofi89’ used consistent results and a single mammoth victory to accumulate 4,383.78 PLB points, more than 1,000 above the closest competitor, to take the monthly title.

In total, ‘kofi89’ picked up eight cashes of five-figures or more. His monthly highlights included victories in the PokerStars $215 Fast Friday for $14,993, the Bounty Builder Series 23 for $31,371, the Hotter $109 for $16,389 and the partypoker Sunday Bounty Hunter High Roller for $20,896.

He went on an incredible heater, seemingly taking down another big tournament every other day. That was all punctuated by his victory in the Winning Poker Network OSS $1M Main Event for $167,500 and 1,001.25 PLB points. He would have likely won the October PLB race without this score, but this certainly put him well out of reach of any other competitor. It bolstered his worldwide rank to #12, just two spots away from his career high of #10. It also puts him just under $100,000 from reaching the amazing achievement of $4 million in lifetime earnings.

A distant #2 in the month was the current #1-ranked player in the world ‘lena900’ (3,226.25.). Even among his peers of dominant Swedes, ‘lena900’ is known as an online poker workhorse and this month was no different. He cashed in over 160 different events in the month of October. In total, ‘lena900’ picked up over $286,000 and added it to his $12.5 million in career online earnings, second in history only to Chris ‘moorman1’ Moorman.

‘lena900’ made waves in the PokerStars Bounty Builder Series 67 ($530 NLHE High Roller) where he took second place for $45,728 and 429.73 PLB points. He backed that up with a victory in the October 16 edition of the partypoker Bounty Hunter High Roller for another $30,474 and 339.50 PLB points. ‘lena900’ may have come in second during the month of October, however, the superstar Swede still leads in the overall 2018 PLB leaderboard, which will be a tight race between him and his countryman ‘C Darwin2’ in the final month and a half of the year.

In the #3 spot for October was the #6-ranked player in the world, Latvia’s ‘DamageAP’ (2717.80). He finished the month strong first with a runner-up finish in the October 21 edition of the partypoker Sunday Main Event High Roller for $18,936 and 239.25 PLB points. He quickly followed that up with another second place result in the October 28 edition of the PokerStars $530 Bounty Builder High Roller for over $26,000 and 313.12 PLB points.

In total ‘DamageAP’ managed over 100 cashes for over $188,000. Twenty-nine of those cashes were for four-figures or higher.

Another name that is regularly in the conversation when it comes to PLB races is ‘C Darwin2’ (2,694.40), who landed at #4 in October. His recent push at the online tables has brought him back to being the #2-ranked player in the world, and the first real threat to ‘lena900’s reign at the top in quite some time.

‘C Darwin2’s recent rise in the rankings is thanks to a solid October. He cashed in 145 events over the month for over $194,000. His month was punctuated by his bronze medal finish in the PokerStars Bounty Builder 67 ($530 NLHE High Roller) where he picked up $32,596 and 336.93 PLB points. He also went deep in the October 21 edition of the 888poker Sunday Major tournament The $50,000 Whale when he finished as the runner-up for $16,425.

Completing the top 5 of October was Robin ‘Inhoo’ Ylitalo (2,649.63), the third of six Swedish players who populate the top ten. Like most of his peers, it was a prolific month for ‘Inhoo’ who made the money in over 150 tournaments during the month. His largest PLB score came when he scored a victory in the October 7 edition of the partypoker Sunday Bounty Hunter High Roller for $21,936 and 280.02 PLB points.

Ylitalo, a former #2-ranked player in the world, is currently sitting at #55 in the world and is speeding ahead to $10 million in career online cashes.
