‘C Darwin2’ continues to do the work necessary to maintain the #1 ranking.

Events like PokerStars’ World Championship of Online Poker and partypoker’s Powerfest are designed for grinders capable of putting long hours over a concentrated amount of time. It should shock absolutely nobody that the players who inhabit the top of the PocketFives Rankings have also enjoyed success over the past couple of very busy weeks in the online poker world.

Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2’, who was #1 in the world when WCOOP began three weeks ago, continues to hold onto the top spot. In the last week he’s earned over 1,380 PLB points after winning the PokerStars Sunday Grand (PLO) for $39,638 and 449.44 points and then final-tabling and finishing eighth in the Powerfest Championship Event for $39,750/35.72. He then followed those up with a pair of runner up finishes. First in Powerfest Event #248 ($530 High Roller) and then in WCOOP Event #62 High ($530 Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo) for $24,920/278.35 and $28,244/303.77 respectively.

The biggest jump inside the top 25 this past week came from former #1-ranked Chris Hunichen. The Costa Rica resident took down WCOOP Event #40 High ($530 Six Max Five Card PLO) for $53,537 and 551.82 points. It was Hunichen’s first WCOOP victory. He also managed four other cashes, highlighted by a sixth place finish in the Powerfest Championship Event for $69,00/417.98.

Swedish players continue to dominate the top of the rankings. Along with ‘C Darwin2’, there are four other Swedes in the top seven; ‘lena900’ (#2),Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren (#5), Robin ‘inhoo’ Ylitalo (#6), and ‘Sheater’ (#7).

With ‘lena900’ returning to the #2 spot, that means that Russia’s ‘veeea’ dropped back down one spot to #3. Brazil’s Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao moved up two spots to #4 while Berggren and Ylitalo each dropped one spot.
