This week’s Podcast features interviews with Adam Levy (Roothlus, PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Ranking #7) and David “Nutstr84444” Redlin.

Adam Levy got into the online poker scene during the Moneymaker craze, and struggled for a year to become a winning player. By making small deposits onto the major sites, and through hard work, “Roothlus” finally made a huge splash in late 2006 with his 3rd Place finish in the PokerStars Sunday Million tournament.

Many PocketFivers remember that tournament well. With the action 4-handed, “Roothlus” was offered a chop by his three opponents. After talking it over with friends (and his backer), Adam declined the chop, an action that was frowned upon by player “Huck Biggins”. When it got down to 3 players, the button raised it pre-flop, and “Roothlus” made an isolation re-raise with Ace-King… which “Huck Biggins” promptly called with pocket nines. Adam lost that race, and busted out in 3rd Place. “Huck Biggins” went on to capture 1st Place while ridiculing Adam’s “Bad Karma” refusal of the previous chop offer, and the rest is history.

What was going through Adam Levy’s mind during that final table appearance? Would he make the same decision if he were faced with a similar situation? Our interview with “Roothlus” will bring you everything from tournament strategy to “24” Trivia (which he sucks at).

PocketFiver David Redlin, who goes by the online name of “NutStr84444”, has had quite a bit of success in the last 7 months at live poker, and has especially been on a tear in Las Vegas. With over $400,000 in tournament winnings since June 2006, David is well-qualified to talk about the ups and downs of an online player making the transition to live poker.
