We’re just one week away from the start of the Red Rock Ultimate Poker Challenge. Ultimate Poker, the first legal and regulated online poker room in Nevada, is backing the live tournament series, which consists of 17 preliminary tournaments and a $1,100 buy-in Main Event. The festivities will be held at the Red Rock Casino (pictured) in Las Vegas. Read more about the series by clicking here.

Ultimate Poker’s Andre Ledoux told PocketFives that the poker site is looking forward to its first signature offline series: “Ultimate Poker is pleased to partner with Red Rock Casino, Resort, and Spa in the inaugural Red Rock Ultimate Poker Challenge at Cherry Nightclub. With a $200,000 guarantee and the cool venue of Cherry Nightclub, it should be an exciting tournament. Team U, led by Antonio Esfandiari, along with 20 online qualifiers will be playing, so Ultimate Poker will be well represented.”

The series runs between August 30 and September 8. Its preliminary events include:

$120 No Limit Hold’em (Event 1, Event 5)
$225 No Limit Hold’em Two-Day (Event 2)

The Main Event features four starting days: Noon and 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7. The tournament has a guaranteed purse of $200,000 and late entries will be allowed through the first break. There is a 10-minute respite for players every three levels.

Ultimate Poker is in the midst of running a special leaderboard from August 5 to 28 that gives out an Ultimate Poker Challenge Main Event seat to its first place finisher. Also being given away are entries to two freerolls that take place on September 1 and award $1,100 entries to the top five finishers. About 500 players will finish with a freeroll entry.

This is the first major live event run by Ultimate Poker, so all eyes will be on Red Rock in Sin City starting August 30. Learn more by visiting Ultimate Poker’s website and clicking on “Promotions” at the top of the page.
