Roman 'Romeopro33' Romanovsky leads the list of PocketFivers who won on 888poker in 2018.

It was a banner year for PocketFivers over on 888poker as many of the top-tier pros took to the site to take down six-figure scores and pad their bankrolls. With the help of major tournament schedules, like the popular XL Series, PocketFivers picked up millions out of the prize pools in 2018.

No one had a better year on 888poker than Ukranian pro Roman ‘Romeopro’ Romanovsky. Romanovsky earned over $405,000 on the site, thanks in large part to his takedown of September’s XL Eclipse $1,000,000 Main Event. He bested fellow pro ‘C Darwin2’ heads-up and picked up $187,500 for the win.

Of course, this was not his only major score on 888poker in 2018 as early in the year he finished as the runner-up in the XL Blizzard $200,000 Mini Main Event for just over $30,000. He also took down the February 4 edition of the $125,000 Whale for $34,375.

Romanovsky continually put up big results in 888poker largest weekly tournament, the Sunday Whale. On April 29 he finished as the runner-up for $20,000. Then again on September 30, Romanovsky took the tournament down once again adding over $25,000 to his 888poker totals.

What may be the most impressive part of his 2018 topping results is that he took three months off from online poker during the summer. He never showed any rust, continually crushing on the site. His 2018 results helped him soar to over $10 million in career lifetime scores and touch the worldwide #2-ranking this year.

Not that far behind Romanovsky is Finland’s Tomi ‘emeriaa’ Brouk. Brouk amassed $349,763 on 888poker in 2018 with his biggest bink coming from May’s XL Inferno Main Event. Brouk finished as the runner-up in the $1,000,000 Main Event for $150,670. The score remains a career-high cash for the grinder and came only days after he booked a fourth-place finish in XL Inferno Event #16 ($200,000 High Roller) for an additional $31K.

XL Inferno wasn’t the only XL series that Brouk did well in as he nearly hit another six-figure score back in January. He finished in third place in the XL Blizzard $1M Main Event for $99,198. All of those scores plus regular four-figure score in the weekly Whale made Brouk the #2 highest casher on 888poker in 2018.

He currently sits inside the top 100, ranked at #92 in the world.

It was an equally massive year for one of the UK’s top online poker talent, Jonathan ‘proudflop’ Proudfoot. Proudfoot enjoyed a breakout year in 2018 and was the third highest casher on 888poker, racking up $238,121 in online tournament scores.

For Proudfoot, there is one major score that defined his year on 888poker. On May 20, he went the distance in the XL Inferno Main Event taking home a career-high cash of $209,779, defeating the man above him on this list heads-up for the win.

The victory helped push the rising star of Proudfoot further into the spotlight as it propelled him to a career-high worldwide ranking of #4 in the world and #1 in the UK.

Coming in at #4 in 2018 is ‘machiavelli3’. The Swedish grinder spends a good amount of time on 888poker and picked up four five-figure cashes on the site this year. His spotlight victory was when he took down the Event #31 of XL Eclipse ($100,000 Mega Deep) for $27,930. That nice score came only days after he won XL Eclipse Event #10 ($100,000 Tune Up) for another $22,170.

In the month of July, ‘machiavelli3’ finished as the runner-up in the weekly Whale on two occasions. The first on July 22 for $16,750 and then again the very next week for an additional $20,445. This after finishing in third place earlier in the month.

His prowess on helped push him to a career-high ranking of #19 in 2018 and a money milestone of over $3 million lifetime. He currently sits at #56 in the world.

Wrapping up the top 5 in 2018 is legendary Swedish online player ‘C Darwin2’. Currently the #2-ranked player in the world, ‘C Darwin2’ seemingly crushes every tournament he enters and this year he lifted $212,599 off of 888poker.

His biggest 888poker score of the year was when he finished right behind Romanovsky in the XL Eclipse $1,000,000 Main Event. His runner-up finish added $135,000 to his coffers and helped push him to over $11.4M in lifetime earnings.
