Among those railing the final table of the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event at the Rio this year was UB.comsponsored pro Adam Roothlus Levy (pictured). The veteran came within inches of being part of the November Nine festivities back in July and ultimately bowed out in 12th place for $635,000. In 2008, Levy took 48th in the Main Event for $135,000. He sat down with PocketFives.com during the festivities at the Penn and Teller Theater to share his thoughts on this year’s $10,000 buy-in tournament.

PocketFives.com: How does it feel to be watching the November Nine when you were so close to being a member of the final table?

Adam Levy: I had a percentage of John JRD312Dolan (pictured), so that was good, but now that he’s busted, I’m not sure why I’m here. My girlfriend likes this a lot and I’m actually not the only person here who got that close this year. Pascal LeFrancois is here and he got 11th. When we met up, we were like, “I don’t know why we’re here.”

PocketFives.com: What do you think so far? Has the final table of the 2010 WSOP Main Event played out like you thought it would?

Adam Levy: I think it’s been a pretty entertaining final table. I think that Dolan ran by far the worst out of anyone at the final table. It’s really unfortunate that he got some spots where you hadn’t seen people thinking that long the entire day and then he runs into two of those kinds of situations. It was unfortunate, but it’s the way it goes. Because the bubble was so long to get to the final nine and because seven-handed took so long, it’s really short now and just kind of a luck fest.

PocketFives.com: Now that you’ve seen the Main Event unfold on ESPN with hole cards, are there any hands you wish you could do over?

Adam Levy: Not really because I didn’t get that much coverage. They should have had far more of me. Going back and racking my brain, there were some spots. I folded queens on Day 8 to Pascal, but given what I knew at that point, I don’t really regret it. There were a lot of spots I went through and didn’t regret much of anything. I was really card dead.

PocketFives.com: What’s next for you? Are you headed to the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) event in Los Angeles?

Adam Levy: I live in L.A., so I’ll be there. It’s a 15-minute drive for me.

PocketFives.com: What are you expecting in the third U.S. NAPT stop? How have you fared in the past on the NAPT?

Adam Levy: I’ve played two NAPTs and haven’t done too well. I expect it to be good, hopefully, and have a large field. It’s not televised, so it might not be, but for some reason I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. In L.A., people love to just play big tournaments. Hopefully they’ll have about 500 players for this.

PocketFives.com: How is the sponsorship with UB.com coming?

Adam Levy: UB is great and we’re chugging along. I wish we had a player at the final table. They had Matthew Bucaric and me going into Day 8. He got 26th and it’s unfortunate that I didn’t make it. It’s just how it works out. They’re great and it’s fun being a part of their site.
