After eleven action-packed days, the 888poker 2020 XL Blizzard online series came to a conclusion on Sunday after longtime Russian grinder ‘ribamech15’ claimed the $500,000 GTD Main Event title and took home the $84,450 first-place prize.

With over $1.4 million in guaranteed money up for grabs, players from all over the world took their shot at padding their bankrolls and picking up a coveted XL championship title. Even with a pair of small overlays, the series more than exceed its total guarantees as players helped post total prize pools totaling over $1.6 million.

In addition to the seven five-figure paydays paid out in the Main Event, there were plenty of big moments throughout the series. In fact, the very first event ($50,000 Opening Event) saw 625 entries crush the guarantee to the tune of a $62,500 prize pool which awarded long-time 888poker grinder ‘resilience32’ another XL title to go along with his previous XL Eclipse and XL Inferno titles. He picked up $11,994 for the win, their fourth-largest online score of all-time.

Event #10, the $109 buy-in $100,000 Tune Up has always been a popular XL event. 888poker has a history of packing the tournament with plenty of players through satellites and freerolls. This time, 1,176 entries piled into the lobby creating a massive $117,600 prize pool. The tournament ended in a three-way chop with PocketFiver ‘Cabeca Tilt’ taking home $19,092 and the title with the official victory. The Brazilian adds that to his over $1.4 million in lifetime earnings. Russia’s ’kukadjamba’ ended up in second place for $14,180 and ‘cosmiNik’ from Romania was the official third-place finisher, earning $14,592 in the deal.

The $100,000 High Roller saw 305 entries take their $320-shot at a big-time score. A pair of players from Latvia took advantage of the small overlay as they battled heads up and finished the event ‘one-two’. ‘zavor4ik’ took home the gold and the $20,450 first-place prize while his fellow countryman ‘floatmasta’ finished right behind him for $15,000. ‘Mr_Coyote’ took home the bronze and an $11,300 payday.
