This week’s Podcast features an interview with 2007 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Champion Ryan “Daut44” Daut.

Ryan was a virtual unknown in the online poker community until only two months ago, when high stakes cash game legend Taylor “Green Plastic” Caby chose Ryan to become his new private student out of hundreds of applicants. Ryan, who is a Post-Grad student, learned the ropes of online poker through cash games, having moved up to the $5/$10 No-Limit Texas Holdem games by late 2006. Intriguingly, “Daut44” has never taken tournaments very seriously, and his decision to play in The Bahamas was largely based on being able to spend a few days hanging out with online friends he rarely sees.

Ryan survived the first day of the tourney (Day 1A) and found time to sun & fun during his day off (Day 1B). On Day 2, a very hungover Ryan chipped up and continued his run all the way to the Championship Hand versus Isaac Haxton. What does it take to dominate mid stakes cash games? And what does it take to win a major live event to the tune of $1.5 Million? Those questions and more will be answered during Ryan’s Podcast interview.

* Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi was originally scheduled to be one of our guests on this week’s show. Due to scheduling complications, we were forced to postpone that interview until a later date.
