All this week, Full Tilt Pokeris doubling its guarantees. For PocketFives.com member Shaun shaundeebDeeb (pictured), Full Tilt’s Double Guarantees Week was especially lucrative, as he took down the $1K Monday two days ago. The tournament boasted a stacked field of 615 players and had a $1.4 million prize pool after multi-entries were counted. Double Guarantees Week continues until Sunday, January 30th on the USA-friendly online poker site.

Deeb, who plays as tedsfishfry on Full Tilt, walked away with $312,000 from the $1K Monday, his largest online poker cash to date, after beating out leoc00 heads-up. He told PocketFives.com that his celebration consisted of heading to a bar down the street for food and a few shots. On the massive prize pool and field size, Deeb explained, “I thought they were where they should be.” Deeb’s win was a hot topic in Poker Discussion.

Like many players, Deeb bought in for the maximum of entries, four. “I have an edge in the field,” Deeb commented when asked why buying in for $4,000 was somewhat automatic. “I’m playing as much as I can. Anything that allows my best skills to come into play like big buy-in tournaments with big fields and lots of tables – no one can keep up with me.” All tournaments as part of Double Guarantees Week are taking on the multi-entry format, which was introduced as part of Full Tilt’s recent software update.

Despite his success in the multi-entry $1K Monday, Deeb doesn’t want to see the option to buy in multiple times stick around forever. “I doubt it’s great for poker long-term,” Deeb admitted, “But it definitely is a cool gimmick and I hope they don’t overuse it. Fish will go broke faster, win less often, and get more realistic about their skills in poker.” Twenty-three players in the top 100 of the PocketFives.com Rankings were among the 162 who cashed, representing 14% of the in the money finishers.

Third place in the super-sized $1K Monday went to former “2 Months, $2 Million” star Emil whitelime Patel, who banked $146,000. Deeb critiqued his fellow pro’s game: “He played well and abused ICM for a bit. Then, once we got three- and four-handed, he played the same and didn’t realize we could reopen our ranges again and we grinded him down.” Deeb elaborated, “Due to ICM, a lot of the medium stacks couldn’t continue against his aggression pre-flop, so he won a ton of blinds and re-steals.”

In September, Deeb won a $1,050 No Limit Hold’em Two-Day Event during the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) for $243,000. The WCOOP bracelet came nine days after he took down the Full Tilt Poker $750,000 Guarantee. He’s fresh off a pair of final tables in preliminary events held during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for well over $100,000 total.

A wealth of high-stakes tournaments will see their guarantees doubled this week on Full Tilt. The nightly $75,000 Guarantee will boast a prize pool of at least $150,000 for the same $163 buy-in. The nightly Fifty-Fifty will come with a $100,000 guaranteed purse during the promotional week for its regular $50 buy-in.
