While Sunday marked the beginning of both partypoker Powerfest and the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker, the headlines instead went to ‘Bencb789‘, who came second in the 888poker $100,000 Sunday Whale for $23,680 and helped ‘Team BITBRYE‘ into an early lead against ‘Team Sweden‘ in their six-figure prop bet.Patrick ‘pleno1’ Leonard confirmed earlier this week that he would be teaming up with RaiseYourEdge head coach ‘Bencb789’ to take part in a six-figure prop bet against the Swedish duo of ‘Lena900‘ and ‘C.Darwin2‘.

As the first day’s play came to an end, it was ‘Team BITB RYE‘ who took the advantage after ‘Bencb789‘, playing under the alias ‘f0rmEitseGal‘, pipped ‘C.Darwin2‘ to second place in the 888poker Whale, after the Swede, could only manage a fourth-place finish for $12,160.

It seems this prop bet will be getting a lot of attention over the next few weeks as the four players go to battle across the all the spring online poker events.

As the before mentioned PokerStars SCOOP series begun yesterday, the Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-Up are being played out as two-day tournaments and set to resume Monday at 18:00 WET.

Ben ‘Ben86’ Tollerene and ‘yongminbae’ were the big winners across the completed PokerStars events yesterday after they took down the $2,100 Sunday High Roller and $530 Bounty Builder High Roller respectively. 2015 WCOOP SHR winner Ben86‘ beat ‘ekziter‘ heads-up to claim the $54,358 first-place prize, while ‘yongminbae‘ came through a field of 1,145 entrants and added $46,577 to their bankroll. Also, Roman ‘RomeOpro’ Romanovsky made the first of his two ‘Sunday Major’ final tables this week after finishing in fourth-place in the $2,100 Sunday High Roller for $23,926.

partypoker began their latest Powerfest series with three $1m Gtd events across its opening day.

1,703 entrants went to battle in the Powerfest #04-HR $530 $1m Gtd Championship Event with ‘sk2ll_m0dR‘ defeating New Zealand’s ‘hamishc2‘ heads-up after both players agreed to a deal. ‘sk2ll_m0dR‘ took away $144,874, with ‘hamishc2‘ beating his previous best recorded online cash of $10,375 by some margin after claiming $143,525.

Roman ‘SanityWaterline’ Romanovsky appeared at his second major final table of the day in the $1,050 Powerfest #05-HR PKO $1m Gtd Championship Event and repeated his earlier fourth-place finish to win $27,272. ‘MonkMode‘ took the victory for $85,914 after beating ‘Ignent‘ into second-place from the 999 player field for $61,538.

Sweden’s ‘Algorhytm‘ was pipped at the post in the Powerfest #04-H $109 $200k Gtd event and had to settle for the runners-up prize of $29,742. The current PocketFives world no.#7 succumbed to ‘omar091365‘ heads-up who banked $42,038 and the title.

As previously mentioned, ‘bencb789‘ was this week’s 888poker $100,000 Whale runner-up and it was ‘AceSpade11‘ who had the honor of beating him for the first-place prize of $35,200.

Last but not least, ‘GangstaGo‘ turned $215 into $19,500 after coming through a field of 311 entrants in the 888poker Sunday Mega Deep. ‘PokerJoe332‘ was the player to lose the heads-up clash for $14,500, with ‘Flopzilla_XD‘ having to settle for $11,000 in third.
