Matt Stone was the biggest Sunday Majors winners this week.

As ever the biggest winner from this week’s Sunday Majors came from the Daddy of the Sunday Majors, the PokerStars Sunday Million, and it was old school online MTT grinder Matt ‘OLD TIME GIN’ Stone who scooped the biggie, adding $161,237 to his bankroll after topping the 5,971 strong field. It’s been a bountiful few weeks over at PokerStars for Canada’s no.7 who took down the $215 Sunday Warm Up $200,000 last weekend for $41,588 just 12 days after winning the $1,050 Super Tuesday for $54,731. This week’s Sunday Million nearly men were ‘imas.jr‘ who placed second for $113,148 with ‘ManDrake1317′ in third for $79,404. After OLD MAN GIN the next highest placed pocketfiver was Brazilian Renato ‘anaheimteam’ Araujo who took eighth place for $13,515 – his biggest ever cash.

PokerStars $2,100 Sunday High Roller saw plenty of major talent on show with former PocketFives world #1 ‘veeea’ taking top spot from 119 runners for a $52,166 payday to add to his $7.7M lifetime online tourney earnings after beating Connor ‘blanconegro’ Drinan heads-up. The world #40 received $39,682 for his runner-up position with 3rd placed ‘iamivar‘ taking home $30,185. This week’s PokerStars $530 Bounty Builder High Roller $300K GTD saw a healthy turnout of 936 entries (including 262 re-entries) to smash the guarantee and create a $468K prize pool, the major beneficiary of which was Russian high stakes pro Dmitry ‘Yurasov1990’ Yurasov who battled for almost 13.5 hours to take top spot and $38,558 prize money. PocketFives member ‘MAXDPLEY‘ earned his biggest ever cash in taking second place with a $28,263 score ahead of Sweden’s ‘WhatIfGod‘ in third who cashed for $20,716. Still with PokerStars, the $215 Sunday Warm-Up $200K saw 1,235 entries create a $247K prize pool, with ‘xoxixox’ crowned champion after 10.5 hour’s play. ‘xoxixox’ was rewarded with a $39,040 payday, followed by ‘koogle62‘ in second for $28,070 and ‘tinchoarce‘ in third earning $20,182.

Since the beginning of the month when partypoker increased their weekly tournament guarantees from $4M to $10M as part of their “We’re all in’ initiative there are now an abundance of big-prize tournaments which could pass as Sunday Majors, but for the sake of (some) brevity we’ll stick to the biggest of the bunch from Sunday’s action.

The biggest partypoker winner was ‘Mike_420‘ who took down their $215 Super Sunday Main Event-H $500K GTD for $82,010 and will no doubt see his current world ranking of 361 jump a few places once the figures are updated. The 2258 runners created almost a $50k overlay, meaning there was some great value to be had for those who made the money. Second placed ‘niv2222‘ received $58,000 while ‘kalfucii‘ won $37,350 in third. The other $500k GTD, the $1,050 Super Sunday Big Bounty Hunter-HR had a similar overlay after 451 players registered. The tourney was eventually won by ‘mwhldwn’ (the high stakes MTT crusher better known by his PokerStars moniker ‘bencb789‘) for $51,743 after just over 10 hours play. ‘PuntSonPunt‘ took second for $36,838 with world #10 Johannes Korsar taking third place. One partypoker Sunday Major which exceeded its $250K guarantee was the $2,600 Super Major Super High Roller $200K guaranteed which attracted the cream of the MTT crop with 106 entrants competing for bragging rights and the $64,925 first place prize money. After almost nine hours of battle the eventual winner was ‘Chelsea72‘ who defeated ‘WWWpartyCOM‘ heads-up, with the runner-up pocketing $46,375. Dreamlovewsop took third place, earning $33,125.

Over at 888poker, the $1,050 buy-in $100,000 Whale saw two former PocketFives world no.1’s take first and second place as Patrick ‘d1scloure’ Leonard (currently world #18) topped the 75 player field to earn $34,100 with Fabrizio “DrMikee’ Gonzalez (currently world #19) taking $22,940 for second. This was Leonard’s second big win of 2018, although his latest victory falls some way short of the $207,978 he won last month after topping the partypoker $5,200 PowerFest $1M GTD.
