SUNDAY MAJORS: Roman Romanovsky Grabs Third Win of 2019

For the third time in 2019, Roman Romanovsky was the last player standing at the end of a Sunday Major.

Roman ‘RomeOpro’ Romanovsky won his third gold medal of 2019, and Patrick Leonard secured his first in another busy Sunday of online poker action.

Romanovsky’s victory came in the PokerStars $2,100 Sunday High Roller for $38,381. A 79-player field created a $158,000 prize pool, and when the players had been whittled down to the final three, it was ‘iamivar‘ who departed with the bronze medal for $23,614. ‘subiime‘ then faced off against Romanovsky for the title, but they were unable to find a way to the win and fell in second place for $30,105.

r1d3rst0rm‘ came through a 5,909 field in the PokerStars Sunday Million to win a cool $159,563.64. Brazil’s ‘Caz_Carneiro‘ lost out in the heads-up battle and departed as runner-up for his biggest recorded online cash worth $111,973. ‘kirdface‘ took the bronze medal for $78,579, while there was also final table appearances for ‘ReraiseRob‘, ‘nili-nilsen‘, ‘AlinAUT‘ and Jamie ‘Ship It 2010‘ O’Connor.

Ireland’s ‘Rowniwn‘ won the PokerStars $530 Bounty Builder High Roller for a career-best $36,255 + $30,400 in bounties score. There were no less than six PocketFivers on the final table with ‘nilsef‘, ‘bubbleboybr‘, ‘Kzzon‘, ‘alexos888‘, and ‘Mr.Bittar‘ all falling before ‘lht23276‘ exited in third place for $19,479 + $12,898. ‘Rowniwn’ then sealed their win by sending ‘droulis9‘ to the rail heads-up, with the latter banking $26,574+ $2,412.

Brazil’s ‘aaurelio‘ was the overall winner in this week’s PokerStars $215 Sunday Warm-Up following a heads-up deal. The prize pool was set at $212,000 after 1,060 entrants took part. ‘Liqqa‘ banked $17,782 for third place, before ‘aaurelio’ and ‘staxzilla99‘ made a money deal. The latter then hit the rail in second place and took away $27,909 for their share, with ‘aaurelio’ adding $31,202 to his bankroll.

partypoker ambassador Patrick Leonard was the last player standing in the partypoker $1,050 Sunday HR Bounty Hunter after he saw off the 133 player field. Leonard’s fellow partypoker teammate Richard Dubini finished in sixth place for $3,829 + $1,982 in bounties. ‘x_zola25‘ walked away with $9,700 + $1,592 in third place, while ‘rudiqa1‘ had to settle for $13,338 +$2,860 as runner-up, after Leonard secured victory for his first gold medal of 2019 and a $18,585 + $21,515 score.
