Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2’ #1 on PocketFives for Third Straight Week

Stats for ‘C Darwin2’, the top-ranked player in the world

It’s officially a three-peat. For the third straight week, Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2‘ is #1 in the PocketFives Rankings. It’s his longest stint at the top. Can he make it four in a row next week?

‘C Darwin2’ has 7,324 PLB Points, the measure used to determine the rankings, and leads the second place score of 6,837 points belonging to ‘Ariados‘ by almost 500. The former has only one win that’s tracked for the rankings in February, which came in the PartyPoker High Roller on February 7 for $15,000, but has made up for it with top ten finish after top ten finish. In fact, ‘C Darwin2’ has 18 top-ten runs this month and is pushing $3.7 million in career online tournament scores.

‘Ariados’ moved up one spot this week to #2. Also from Sweden, ‘Ariados’ had a blockbuster Valentine’s Day, winning the PokerStars Bounty Builder and PokerStars.fr Sunday High Roller that day for almost $25,000 total. This is the highest ‘Ariados’ has ever been in the rankings and he’s one of five Swedes in the top eight worldwide.

Speaking of Sweden, ‘lena900‘ moved up from #6 to #3, one spot off his all-time high. Closing in on $4 million in lifetime scores, ‘lena900′ won the PokerStars $109 No Limit Hold’em Cubed on Tuesday and finished second in the Winamax High Roller over the weekend for $12,000. He has six wins this month, bringing his lifetime total to 85.

‘IgorK’ reentered the top ten

Simon ‘IgorK‘ Ronnow Pedersen reentered the top ten at #10. He’s had five wins in February, including in the PokerStars Bounty Builder for $15,000 and PartyPoker High Roller for $10,000. Pedersen just passed $2.1 million in career online winnings and owns almost 300 top-three finishes.

Hitting #47 in the world, his best showing ever, was ‘1_conor_b_1‘. This poker player from the UK has been on fire in recent weeks, taking third in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up for $41,000, final tabling the Sunday 500 for $23,000, and getting fourth in the Sunday Second Chance. That’s three Sunday Majors in three weeks. He is the top-ranked online poker player in the city of York and it would not be surprising to see him crack the top 20 worldwide in the near future.

Tomi ’emeriaa’ Brouk moved up 20 spots

Tomi ‘emeriaa‘ Brouk moved up 20 spots in the rankings this week to #54. Brouk is the top-ranked player from Finland and made it as high as #17 in the world last year. He took second in the PokerStars Sunday 500 over the weekend for $42,000 officially, his seventh largest cash all-time. Brouk has 333 top-three finishes over the years.

Also advancing 20 spots in the rankings was Brazil’s Diego ‘MrBittar‘ Bittar, who ended up at #69, one off his all-time high. He won the PokerStars Hotter $162 over the weekend for $20,000 and finished first in the site’s Big $162 on the first day of February for $12,000. Bittar is the sixth-ranked player in the South American country and #1 in the capital city of Brasília.

Denmark’s ‘x_zola25‘ reentered the top 100 at #79. He was once ranked in the top ten on PocketFives and is fresh off winning the PokerStars $109 Rebuy over the weekend for $8,200; he took down the same tournament earlier this month for about the same amount. The Dane’s February has also included a win in the PartyPoker High Roller.
