December featured another exciting race to the top on the PocketFives monthly PLB leaderboard. World #1-ranked player Fabrizio ‘SixthSenSe19’ Gonzalez held the crown in November but ceded it to ‘C Darwin2’, who racked up over 2,600 points among his 20 highest scores.

It was an astounding month for ‘C Darwin2’ as he notched five victories along with five additional top-three finishes. ‘C Darwin2’ did the larger portion of his damage in High Roller and Super High Roller events on partypoker.

On December 11, ‘C Darwin2’ won the $2,600 buy in $100,000 guaranteed Super High Roller, beating a field of 46 to collect the $42,500 first place prize. A few weeks later, ‘C Darwin2’ was victorious in the $530 buy in $100,000 guaranteed High Roller as he vanquished the 330 entrants standing between him and first place. ‘C Darwin2’ took home $31,900 for his result.

Some of the other notable results from ‘C Darwin2’ include an 11th place finish in a field of 1,951 in the PokerStars $300,000 guaranteed Sunday Warm-Up, a bronze medal in the partypoker $50,000 guaranteed Six Max Turbo High Roller, and a win in the partypoker $20,000 guaranteed Six Max Turbo High Roller, which earned him $8,400.

Finishing behind ‘C Darwin2’ in the rankings by less than 60 points is Cristian ‘Progre69’ Sampaoli. It was a big month for Sampaoli as he earned a Triple Crown over the course of three days. The largest of the Triple Crown victories for Sampaoli came in the PokerStars $350,000 guaranteed Super Tuesday. The $71,000 first place prize is the second largest online cash of Sampaoli’s career.

Outside of ‘C Darwin2’, who is currently the #2-ranked player in the world, the highest finishing player in the PLB rankings is ‘lena900’, who took fifth place and is #4 overall. ‘lena900’ continued a streak of consistent success after taking sixth place in the November PLB poll.

Finishing in third and fourth place, respectively, is Alexandr ‘Blackk’ Trofimov and Gediminas ‘Gedis92’ Uselis. It was a busy month for both players, as they combined to win 19 tournaments between them.
