When the PocketFives.com Online Poker Rankingswere recalculated this week, New York’s T Money(pictured) fell from #100 worldwide to #111. The longtime member of the community was fresh off a two-month period in August and September that saw him win the full-tilt-pokerSunday Brawl for $75,000, final table a pokerstars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) event for $64,000, and win the PokerStars $200 Rebuy for $35,000, among other top-tier finishes. PocketFives.com sat down with T Money to discuss joining the upper echelons of the Rankings.

It’s not easy to crack the top 100 worldwide on the leaderboard. A considerable amount of volume in the world’s largest online poker tournaments is required, as is the respect of your peers in the Pro Poll. Accordingly, T Money was elated to come away with a top 100 appearance in the Rankings: “It feels great to break the top 100. It’s been a long grind and I’m happy about where it has led me.”

His PokerStars $200 Rebuy win came on October 31st and was good for over 400 PLB Points for the Rankings. Among those at the final table was World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event November Niner Joseph subiime Cheong (pictured), who landed in eighth place for $4,800. On Cheong, T Money told PocketFives.com, “subiime is a great player. He’s pretty aggressive and keeps the pressure on. He has had a great run recently and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon.” Cheong finished third in the Main Event for $4.1 million.

The $200 Rebuy comes with a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool and attracted a throng of 224 players. After the field had rebought in earnest, the purse had swelled to $162,000. “That was an exciting tournament to win since it’s regularly filled with lots of talent,” T Money told us. “It definitely adds confidence to my game. PokerStars had just changed the structure that week, which I couldn’t be happier with. The play is a lot deeper now and it gives us more room to play back at each other.” Two members of the top 25 in the Rankings – Zachary HustlerGruneGruneberg and Zackattak13 – also reached the final table.

The highlight of his recent run, however, remains his impressive showing in the WCOOP’s $530 Rebuy for $64,000 on September 23rd. He registered a fifth place finish in that event and explained, “Winning the $215 Rebuy was pretty fun and added some PLB points, but final tabling the $530 Rebuy has to be the highlight. I pumped myself up pretty hard for the WCOOP and managed to have a few good runs there.” Since the beginning of September, T Money has piled up over $220,000 in Rankings-eligible tournaments.

During his climb up the poker ladder, T Money has learned a considerable amount about his own game: “My game is constantly evolving. I owe a lot of thanks to my peers who I play hands with daily. Without battling them every day, I wouldn’t learn and progress as a player.” As far as what’s on the horizon for the rising poker star, T Money guessed, “Just continue down the road where I am at now. The game is always evolving and I’m trying to keep up with it. I can only strive to continue to get better; hard work and dedication seem to be the path to take.”

T Money remains at #99 in the Pro Poll, edging out Sam siolaIola in the top 100. Check out who else has been out-performing the competition by viewing the PocketFives.com Rankings.
