One member of the online poker community who has been more than willing to share the details of his life is FouTight, who hails from Ottawa, Canada. He’s posted nearly a dozen Blogs on PocketFives.com that cover recent trips to Las Vegas, Vancouver, and even local card rooms. His contributions have garnered a wide variety of feedback, so PocketFives.com went straight to the source to get the inside scoop on his poker story.

FouTight was the first to admit that he didn’t think his articles would catch on like wildfire. The Canuck conceded, “A few friends of mine and a few random PocketFivers told me they enjoyed the stories at first, so I posted them for the lovers, not the haters. The response has been awesome, so it motivated me to write more.” To illustrate the feedback, one member of the online poker community wrote, “Epic stories FouTight. You tell them like it happened last week – poker memory is a golden tool.”

One of FouTight’s most interesting entries outlines his exploits in Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics, which included a trip to the gold medal hockey game (pictured) between the United States and Canada. FouTight recalled, “That whole day is a great example of ‘life freerolls’ that people don’t take nearly often enough. I looked like the volunteers working there, so I knew if I could get in past security, I would be able to watch at least part of the game and at least say I was in the arena for it.”

He continued, “My only ‘costs’ or risks included getting denied entry at security, which would have forced me to go watch the game on one of the many outdoor screens around the arena with tons of people in pretty much the same electric atmosphere as inside of it. So, I knew that I was 100% watching this game, so I figured I would take a shot at upgrading my seat.” He not only made it inside in the end, but also scored a seat in the lower bowl amid a sea of rapid hockey fans.

Now that 2010 is drawing to a close, we asked FouTight what the top poker news story of the year was. His response: “I enjoyed seeing a ton of grinders at the final table of the WSOP Main Event. I enjoyed the extremely high quality of play that I saw on the live broadcast and the highlights on ESPN. Those guys were really playing for the win and it was fun to watch. Also, the fact that a French-Canadian won is awesome.” Jonathan Duhamel (pictured), the “French-Canadian,” took home the gold bracelet and an $8.9 million payday.

FouTight also relived a recent trip to Las Vegas, which includes the following humorous line about the Sunday grind in a houseful of poker players: “The next day, Sunday, was the standard online grind for the house. It was a pretty funny sight to see… 11 guys, all walking around this huge mansion, everyone with a laptop in their hands, and constant yelling of, ‘Ship it,’ ‘Ahh WTF,’ and ‘Wow, that guy is bad!'” On his digs in Sin City, FouTight typed, “I had been to Vegas once before that and had slummed it up at Circus Circus. This time around, I wanted to live it up, so we rented a suite at the Venetian for two weeks.”

On the felts, FouTight won the PokerStars$11 Rebuy in early October for $13,000 and took second in the site’s Nightly Seventy Grand in August for nearly $10,000. His largest cash tracked for the PocketFives.com Rankings came in December 2008, when he took down the PokerStars $50,000 Guarantee for $23,000.
