Top Players Dominating Early Garden State Super Series IV Action
The fourth installment of the partypoker Garden State Super Series is turning into a showcase event for some of the top online poker players in New Jersey. A number of the top-ranked players in New Jersey have made multiple final tables so far, but nobody has had more success than Daniel ‘leinad’ Buzgon, who has recorded two wins through the first 23 events.
Buzgon is hardly alone, though. Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon has continued his blistering pace into the GSSS, recording four final table runs through the first two-dozen events. He had a nearly 250-point lead at the top of the leaderboard coming into March and if he’s able to continue to put together deep runs, he could begin to pull away from the rest of the pack before the quarter mark of 2016.
While Kwon went for quality over quantity, Kevin ‘sofcknsickk’ Campbell, who recently jumped into the Garden State top ten, did the opposite. Campbell finished second in a $20,000 guaranteed event early in the series and then won a $5,000 guaranteed Pot Limit Omaha event, with those scores earning him just over $5,500 through the first week of the GSSS.
‘SparkleTheClown’ found himself in the winner’s circle twice as well, as he won the $200 Six-Max Bounty event and then followed that up with a Limit Hold’em win. ‘leinad’ also recorded two outright wins through the first week.
Mike ‘Gags30’ Gagliano is trying to stay in that top ten after falling a few spots last month. He has helped his cause with a decent start to the GSSS, including an outright win in a $15,000 guaranteed event for nearly $5,000.
In total, $1,000,000 in prize pools are up for grabs in GSSS IV. That number is likely to rise, though, as every guarantee has been hit through one week, with some of the bigger weekend event prize pools more than doubling the guarantee.
