Tournament Review for 10-12-2008

PocketFives.com members won five major tournaments over the weekend led by govshark2, who took home $184,500 for his victory in the PokerStarsSunday Million. The Full Tilt Poker$750k Guaranteed tournament was won by Dajinerat while David Bakes Baker was awarded $91,500 for his 1st place finish in the "Sunday 500" on PokerStars. Highly popular forum poster Steve thorladen Weinstein collected over $51k for his win in the Stars $250k Guaranteed rebuy tournament and ozenc walked away with nearly $55k after coming out on top in the Sunday Second Chance.

Australia's SEABEAST took 2nd in the UltimateBet$200k Guaranteed for $27k on Sunday, followed by Nick FU_15 Maimone and CASINOICE; who finished 5th and 7th respectively for $11k and $7k. PocketFiver herdgolf86 earned $3,500 for 9th and aconsuma rounded out the final table in 10th. The Stars $250k Guaranteed rebuy was filled with P5'ers at its final table. Koolkeith13 took home $37,500 for 2nd place, IgorFederal placed 4th for $21k and gerrard won almost $15k for 5th. TwinMSU took 6th for $11k and PocketFives blogger Cre8ive collected $8,750 for 7th. James Andy McLEOD Obst placed 8th and GhettoFabolous finished 9th in that same tournament. The Stars Sunday Warm-Up featured three members at its final table, led by wdrzich who won $71k for runner-up while ael1979 took home $48,750 for 3rd. Pappe_Ruk received $23k for 6th.

Anthony holdplz Spinella took 2nd in the Stars "Sunday 500" for $66k; edging out fellow PocketFiver JarredG who made $50k for 3rd. Teh_benjo took home $37,500 for 4th in the Sunday 500. Omaha889 placed 8th for $11k and hoodini10 finished 9th for $7k. Former top 100 ranked online tournament player xxjondxx won $22,500 for 4th in the Sunday Second Chance. LexLuthor85 placed 5th for $15,750 and Mark P0ker H0 Kroon cashed for $12,750 in 6th. Makavelyces placed 7th for nearly $10k. Matt ch0ppy Kay of Canada added $52,500 to his online poker bankroll upon placing 3rd in the Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed. There were no PocketFives.com members at the final tables of the Titan Poker$250k Guaranteed or the DoylesRoom $175k Guaranteed tournaments.

Saturday's Absolute PokerWeekly $150k Guaranteed tournament had 231 entrants, with 011pokerdr placing 2nd for $24k. Herdgolf86 placed 3rd for $16,700 and Australia's Volcheko received $12k for 4th. Long-time forum poster LXIXME17 finished 8th for $5k and yaboystu cashed for $4k in 8th. Sumpas won $10k for 6th in the PartyPoker$300k Guaranteed while crosscourtbh finished 9th for $4k. A total of six PocketFivers made the final table of the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan. POTTER earned $29k for 2nd, TheOmaholic placed 3rd for $21,500 and CNT_CRUSHER made $16,500 upon ending his tournament life in 4th place. Rugster placed 6th in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed for $4,500.
