The first Sunday of 2006 has come and gone, and one of the big winners of the day was a familiar face. JOEYTHEBtook 6th place in the PokerStars $500k guaranteed, winning more than $26k. It was the 2nd time in 2 months that he has final tabled their Sunday tourney.

CardiffGiant(GambleAB) won the $100k guaranteed on Bodog, which drew a fairly large crowd of 825 players and still managed to have a $17.5k overlay in the prizepool. DippyDoughtook down $6,500 for 4th place in the same event.

A couple noteables made nice scores on PartyPoker this weekend. yahtzee0(iMsoLucky0) took 5th in the Friday Special, which was worth 11.4k. ComeOnPhishwas the 4th place finisher in the $200k guaranteed, which netted him $12k. On Sunday, YelloSub86finished 4th for more than $35k in the $500k guaranteed.

On Paradise, Tipsy Jokerfinished 5th in the $150k guaranteed. This was the first weekend with the new guarantee, which was set at $100k throughout the year 2005. ShuMony2Nitetook 9th in this tournament as well.

MrTimCaumtook 7th in the Full Tilt $60k guaranteed, which was worth about $25k. yankee47(B_O_K_E) finished 9th overall in the Weekly Big Deal on PokerRoom, which barely missed its $80k guarantee.
