Tournament Review for 2-12-2005 through 2-14-2005
Tournaments were bigger than ever this weekend, with several prize pools exceeding recent performace. UltimateBet had the most entrants they’ve ever had in their $200+15 event, as 675 people attempted to win a piece of the $135,000 prize pool. PokerStars also had a bigger prize pool than usual in their $350k guaranteed event, with first prize up above $100k.
A couple ranked players from PocketFives.com came very close to the final table in the ¼ million guaranteed on PartyPoker. Iamlucky finished in 19th place, just after westtexasman finished in 25th. Congrats to those guys for making it most of the way through that tough field.
In the UltimateBet $100k Guaranteed $200+15 event, JohnnyBax made it to the final table, but he was severely short-stacked and finished in 10th place. Others making it close in that one were jsup (27th) and brsavage(37th).
The Paradise tourney had a nice prize pool of around $140k, although we don’t have the exact final results from that one. The only real high finisher among our ranked guys was Aawwnutz, who finished 13th and won $1,250. One other tourney we don’t have exact results for was the Friday Night $200+15 on PartyPoker, and, as is getting to be fairly predictable, JohnnyBax finished near the top of that one.
