Tournament Review for 3-23-2008
Easter Sunday featured a showcase of PocketFives.com talent, as five major online tournaments were won by P5'ers. The biggest winner on Sunday was Nicholas "CapTinBisKuiT" Blumenthal (right), who took down the Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed for $134,000. Top-ranked online tournament player "GhettoFabolous" placed 3rd in that same tournament for $53,000.
The Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan featured "driftdc5" and "AMoney13," who placed 2nd and 3rd for $27k and $20k. "AreTheseUtz" took 5th place for $11,700 and "Pablo Diablo" placed 9th for $3,200. PocketFiver "Michnak" ended up in 3rd Place in the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl, earning him $28,700 while "david_a" added $5,700 to his bankroll after finishing in 8th.
Team PokerStars member Hevad "RaiNKhaN" Khan (left) won the Sunday Warm-Up for nearly $98k this past weekend, as "Qcity" took 4th for $26,500. P5'er "hAAj" made $16k for 6th Place and "gambler2k4" finished 7th for $11,500. Three PocketFives.com members rounded out the final table in the PokerStars Sunday Million, as "jaywks," "blanconegro," and "pbdrunks" finished 7th, 8th, and 9th respectively.
The PokerStars Sunday 2nd Chance tournament had six P5'ers at its final table, led by "kutuz_off" who took home $50k for 1st Place while "term_" made $37,300 for 2nd. Josh "pbdrunks" Van Duyn (right) continued his impressive 2008 run with a 3rd Place finish for $33k, "markysals11" took home $21,500 for 4th, and "HitUR2outer" earned $15k for 5th Place. "Pocktdeuces" cashed for $9,300 after ending his tournament life in 7th Place.
"JOEYTHEB" captured a victory in the PokerStars $200 rebuy tournament for almost $43k in another final table that featured six PocketFives.com members. "JayPez" took 4th for $15,200, while top-ranked player "PURPLEPILS99" earned $9,500 for 6th. Rounding out the final table were "gus976," "bparis," and "mx4ever," who finished 7th, 8th, and 9th.
The Bodog $100k Guaranteed tournament was won by Jonathan "xMONSTERxDONGx"Karamalikis (left), who took home $25,000 for 1st Place. "EddieO" and "garage13" placed 6th and 7th for $4,500 and $3,500, while "thebrush5" and "openartery" placed 8th and 9th. In the PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed, PocketFiver "breeth" earned a nice paycheck for his 3rd Place finish, while "Deckzor" finished right behind him in 4th Place. That tournament final table also featured "gaffel," who finished in 10th.
"JohnnyGstaks" (right) continues to showcase his talents in Sunday major tournaments, and placed 2nd in the UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed on Sunday for $27,000. He was able to outlast "dapfunkera" and "katdragon," who earned $18,500 and $13k for finishing 3rd and 4th. "Sh@rkB@it" won $5,000 for his 8th Place result in the UB $200k Guaranteed.
