Tournament Review for December 28, 2015
The PokerStarsSunday Million weekly flagship tournament boasted a $5 million guaranteed prize pool over the weekend and eventually concluded with a seven-way final table chop. Brazilian Renan Carlos Bruschi(pictured) had plenty of reasons to smile once the special event concluded, as he had a career effort with an official 1st place finish and $354,187 to show for it. Fellow PocketFiver terabyte11of India was awarded $300,070 upon bowing out in 5th place, while Clairv0yant1 finished 8th in the event for $71,459.
Maszat noirduckMarci of Hungary (ranked #386 worldwide) took down the Stars 500 outright and cashed for $78,210. Canada’s Ryan i need sheet Yu (ranked #258 worldwide) had a 3rd place showing in that event for $42,147.
Ryan ryanpPlant of the United Kingdom came out on top in the Sunday Warm-Up and received his largest to-date online poker tournament score of $75,196. The cash was negotiated three ways with P5er tdr01 of Romania collecting $69,792 for his official 3rd place effort.
Brazilian Alisson heyalissonPiekazewicz (ranked #97 worldwide) finished runner-up in the Stars Sunday Supersonice for $46,646. Longtime PocketFiver Fabrizio SixthSenSe19Gonzalez of Uruguay walked away with $31,320 upon winning the 888 Poker $120k Guaranteed “Mega Deep” event.
277th-ranked Nicolas chilenoclYunis of Chile won the PartyPoker“Heavyweight: The Main Event” Sunday and pocketed $30,318 for the victory. Meanwhile fellow Top 500-ranked member Apotheosis of Canada earned $30,095 for his outright win in the Party $530 buyin “High Roller.”
Other first place finishers in covered tournaments included random.chuof Australia, who won the bet-at-home/ William Hill/ iPoker “Sunday Masters” for a payday of $4,960.
