May was another massive month for PocketFivers looking to score in the value-packed tournaments on 888poker. In addition to their newly revamped tournament schedule, promotions like the Early Bird Rakeback and Sunday Sale continued to reap benefits for MTT grinders, of every level, looking to give their bankroll a springtime boost.
This included the UK’s John ‘eilselnhoj’ Leslie who took home the title of Top Earner for May after picking up a total of $15,034 over the course of 43 results. Leslie picked up five victories in the month including a win in the May 4 edition of the $3,000 Big Shot for $846 and another on the same day in the $5,000 6-Max Mayhem for $1,703, his top score of the month.
His victories didn’t stop there, he was in the winner’s circle again on May 9 in the $5,000 PKO Rumble $1,569 and closed out the month with a win in the $5,000 6-Max Mayhem on May 15 for $1,649.
In total, Leslie reached the podium 13 times (30.2% of his cashes) with five four-figure scores. The total amount of his cashes helped lift him just over $550,000 in career online scores and into the top 100-ranked players in the UK.
Right behind Leslie was Canada’s ‘bustindanut’, playing under his 888poker screen name ‘popsnpoker’, raking in $12,465 in cashes. The bulk of his winnings came from two very nice scores, including a runner-up finish on May 3 in the $109 buy-in $20,000 Big Shot which was good for $3,347. Then on May 15, he did one better, taking down the very same tournament for a $4,419 payday.
The Canadian grinder now sits at more than $3.27 million in career lifetime earnings and is just $6,000 away from earning $600,000 on 888poker alone.
Rounding out the top three in May is Portugal’s #10-ranked grinder ‘AKupaA’, who plays on 888poker under his screen name ‘THEKIDM8’. ‘AKupaA’ picked up $10,275 in total cashes over 25 total results.
He found consistent results throughout the month with spotlight scores on May 4 in the $109 buy-in $15,000 Big Shot where he picked up the win and its $4,325 first-place prize. He grabbed another four-figure score on May 19 with a runner-up finish in the $55 $5,000 6-Max Mayhem which was good for $1,238.
‘AKupaA’ is currently ranked #410 in the world with nearly $2.8 million in total career earnings. With another month or two like he had in May, he has a shot at getting back to his career-high ranking of #254 which he last held in 2017.

A pair of 888poker grinders join him in the top three of cashes this month as Stephen ‘sizzlinbetta’ Reynolds picked up 66 cashes for a total of $1,889 and the Netherlands ‘HeateN’, who has topped this list many times before, was tied in third with Ukraine’s Vadym ‘vaduwka’ Khabarov as both players earned 57 cashes for the month.
