Doug Polk earned nearly a half million dollars while live on Twitch on Monday

He may not have walked away with the title on Monday, but Doug ‘WCG|Rider’ Polk earned mid-six figures for finishing runner-up in a World Championship of Online Poker High Roller event and did it all while streaming on Twitch. In the process the high stakes poker pro smashed the Twitch record for biggest score while streaming.

The $10,300 buy-in WCOOP High Roller Event #53 was won by Phil ‘Grindation’ McAllister of the United Kingdom for $584,415 following a 20-minute negotiation with #111-ranked ‘European‘ of Finland. Polk received $455,000 for finishing runner-up in that event while ‘European‘ was awarded $459,530 for his official third place showing.

The record for biggest win while live on Twitch previously belonged to ‘SolidPenis’ who earned $250,000 in a Spin N Go in July.

Alexandros ‘mexican222’ Kolonias of Greece finished fourth for $263,731 and ‘LLinusLLove‘ cashed for $194,561 in fifth place. The 8-Max final table was rounded out by ‘SadmanS‘ ‘Chris ‘Big Huni’ Hunichen‘ and ‘Keven ‘Stammdogg’ Stammen‘.

The $2,100 buy-in Sunday Million Special Edition, WCOOP Event #54, attracted over 1,300 total entries, as ‘bob43155‘ captured an outright victory and $407,633 cash prize. ‘OLDWOLF133‘ walked away with $298,793 for 2nd, ‘kbp00‘ got $219,015 for 3rd place, and Australia’s ‘kylec1‘ collected $160,537 for 4th place.

It was ‘leoc00‘ who came out on top in the $215 buy-in Sunday Warm-Up SE Event #52 for $222,160. ‘Uninc157‘ was the runner-up and received a $154,792 payout, as PocketFives member Peter ‘pitaoufmg‘ Gabriel earned his largest career online tournament cash with a 3rd place effort for $107,855.

Event #55 saw ‘clinc3‘ atop the final lobby list for $138,352. Conor ‘blanconegro’ Drinan won $100,401 for 2nd place in that event and Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom was awarded a cash payout of $72,861 for 3rd. PokerStars players ‘thx4urm0n3y‘ and ‘U_2GOOD4_M3‘ were the top two finishers in the $1,050 NLHE 6-Max Ultra Deep Event #51 — taking home $129,206 and $111,826 for their respective performances as a result of a heads-up chop.
