Jonas ‘llJaYJaYll’ Lauck is the 2016 World Championship of Online Poker Main Event champ

It took three days to complete, but in the end Jonas ‘llJaYJaYll’ Lauck stood tall over the 2,090 other entries in the 2016 World Championship of Online Poker Main Event and walked away with $1,517,541.25 for his efforts.

It took Lauck only an hour to eliminate his final opponent, ‘0409479’, in second. The UK-based player also walked away with a seven-figure score, $1,101,278.90, as runner-up. In celebrating his win, Lauck brought back memories of 2012 WCOOP Main Event champion Marat ‘maratik’ Sharafutdinov, who coined a new catch phrase while negotiating his share of the prize pool.

“We are world champion Thanks a lot for all the support and nice messages. Appreciate it! I WON(T) MILLION #wcoop #bazaaam,” Lauck tweeted.

While the Main Event was certainly the highlight of the final day of WCOOP 2016, there were two other events that wrapped up on Tuesday as well. Shyam ‘G’s zee’ Srinivasan beat out 473 other players, including Australian online legend James ‘Andy McLEOD’ Obst who finished second, to win Event #80 and $102,747.49. This was Obst’s second runner-up finish of the 2016 WCOOP.

Brazilain ‘teruliro’ took home the final title of the day, winning Event #81, $320 Pot Limit Six Max Five Card Omaha, to win $51,267.22 after making a heads-up deal with eventual runner-up ‘Cinguzis’.
