WCOOP: World #3 ‘lena900’ Takes Down High Roller for $200K

For the second time in his career, 'lena900' can call himself a WCOOP champion and that might make it easier for him to take over the #1 spot on the PocketFives Rankings for the 11th time in his career.

It’s been nearly four months since Swedish superstar ‘lena900‘ last held down the #1 spot in the PocketFives Rankings. On Saturday, he took a giant leap towards regaining that spot and picked up $200,000 in the process after taking down a PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker event.

‘lena900’ beat out 172 players in Event #38 ($5,200 NLHE PKO High Roller) to win his second career WCOOP title and earn $101,250.17 from the prize pool and another $99,804.68 from bounties. He has been ranked #1 ten different times in his career and most recently held the #1 spot for 20 consecutive weeks before Conor Beresford took the reigns on May 16.

Christopher ‘lissi stinkt’ Frank also earned his second career WCOOP title on Saturday. The German pro earned $28,440.74 for winning Event #43 ($530 Six Max NLHE/PLO). Frank’s first WCOOP win came in 2018.

Despite having five PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker titles to his credit, Talal Shakerchi had never captured a WCOOP victory. That changed on Saturday night as the 56 year old Brit won Event #45 High ($1,050 Badugi) for a $22,850.02 payday.

Other players who entered the WCOOP winners circl on Saturday included ‘varabey1991‘ (Event #39 Medium), ‘jokkers_br‘ (Event #39 Low), ‘SKB1908‘ (Event #43 Medium), ‘Eiso3’ (Event #43 Low), ‘mixjuice‘ (Event #45 Medium), and ‘Senkel92‘ (Event #45 Low).
