Pennsylvania online poker players will be able to play for 8 WSOP bracelets this August.

Buckle up, Pennsylvania online poker players – the World Series of Poker is coming to your house. Just days after receiving approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to launch, WSOP.com has announced that players in the Keystone State will be competing for WSOP bracelets this August.

The eight-event schedule runs August 1 – 8 on WSOP.com in Pennsylvania with buy-ins ranging from $400 to $3,200, with the Championship Event costing $1,000 to enter.

“We are thrilled to be opening up WSOP.com to the state of Pennsylvania,” said Ty Stewart, SVP of the World Series of Poker at Caesars Entertainment. “The real winners in this expansion are the players who join us at WSOP.com. Our team is laser-focused on providing the most value to poker players in the state and are confident in the potential of our online poker product. With our industry-best sign-up promotions and the special bracelet series catered specifically to players in Pennsylvania, we welcome all players, from the casuals to the professionals and everyone in between.”

Things get underway on August 8 with the $500 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Keystone Kick Off. Unlike their counterparts in Nevada and New Jersey, Pennsylvania grinders playing on WSOP.com will be playing on the new Poker 8 client from 888poker. This comes with some new offerings, including Progressive Knockout tournaments and there are two of those on the schedule, Events #2 and #6.

The $1,000 buy-in Championship event is slated for Sunday, August 8. Some versions of the schedule available online indicate that Events #1 (the Keystone Kickoff) and #8 (the Championship event) are multi-flight events – another first for WSOP.com players.

These events, combined with the 33 events available on WSOP.com in New Jersey and Nevada, the 88 WSOP events in Las Vegas this fall, plus 33 more online events on GGPoker beginning in August, and the 15 bracelet events on the WSOP Europe schedule bring the total number of bracelets available to be won in 2021 to a record-high 177.

These eight events are only available to players inside the state of Pennsylvania. The PGCB has not indicated plans to join an inter-state compact with Nevada and New Jersey which would allow for Pennsylvania players to play against players from those other states.
