888poker’s XL Inferno is headed into the home stretch with just a few days left for players to battle for an XL title before this weekend’s $500,000 GTD Main Event.

On Wednesday, the popular Progressive Knockout format was back on the schedule with three more tournaments played out and $80,000 in guarantees on the line.

Event #20 – $50,000 PKO

The day’s biggest tournament was the $50K PKO where players smashed the registration button, putting up their $109 buy-in, and sending the prize pool over $10K past the guarantee.

The winner was well-known poker Twitch stream grinder, and former PocketFives top-5 ranked player, Bryan ‘DePittsterje’ Paris. Paris, who sits ranked #12 on the All-Time Online Money List, added another $9,156.59 ($5,738 + $3,418.59 in bounties) to his massive $11.7M in lifetime earnings.

Another 888poker reg, Austria’s ’23NoraB’ finished right behind Paris, taking home $4,228 + $292.19 in bounties as the runner-up.

’23NoraB’ may have finished in second, but with few bounties to speak of, third place finisher ’cshine87’ from Ireland actually took home the second largest score of the tournament. The Irishman walked with $3,095.50 + $2,002.62 in bounties for a payday of over $5K.

Also of note: 2019 XL Inferno champion ‘Tuna_lover’ from the UK made the final table in this one as well, finishing in ninth place for $501.32 + $651.56 in bounties.

As has been the case all series long, the Mini version of the Main tournament has been incredibly popular, bringing out all the low-to-mid stakes grinders.

‘pokerdave128’, who earlier in the series was forced to settle as the runner-up in Event #1, the Opening Event, would not be denied in the Mini PKO. He fired three bullets and eventually bested the 1,173 entry field to take home the XL Inferno title and $2,126.21 + $1,453.17 in bounties for first.

Fellow UK player ‘shamanscouse’ wrapped up in second place, earning $1,539.37 + $210.44 in bounties for his efforts. ‘dyonvlaar12’ wound up taking home the bronze, adding $1,169.92 + $280.02 in bounties to his bankroll.

The third of three XL tournaments on the day, the $10K Late PKO crushed it’s guarantee as well, allowing players to fight over the $17,580 in the middle.

Ukrainian ‘For1k’ took home the largest payday earning $1,670.25 + $1,153.75 in bounties for taking first place. Romanian grinder, and a regular participant in the XL series, ‘JacktheCpt’ finished as the runner-up. He took home $1,230.60 + $440.29 in bounties for second place.

Finally, Norway’s ‘Assad91’ once again came close to taking down a title during the spring series. However, he fell just short, falling in third place and settling for $900.97 + $280.65 in bounties as a consolation prize.
