Day 2 of the 888poker XL Inferno Championship series saw two more of the 34 events completed as players battled it out for their share of the $2.8 million series guarantee.
There was $40,000’s worth of prizes up for grabs in Friday’s XL Inferno Twin events #4 and #5 as 887 entrants came together across the two tournaments. Both events featured a $55 buy-in.
Event #4 – $20,000 Twins Royal
The Royal saw 440 entrants put up the $55 buy-in with 63 places paid the minimum cash amount of $133.32.
‘GangstaGo’ was to be the last player remaining after they defeated Ireland’s Dan ‘xXGlamBabexX’ Wilson heads-up for $5,757. It was a near miss for former Irish Open Main Event champion Wilson who was looking to claim his second XL Inferno title after winning the Event#88 $30,000 GTD Saturday Challenge just 12 months ago.
Event #5 – $20,000 Twins Flush
The Flush welcomed 447 entrants and created a $30,300 prize pool with 63 places paid.
‘GangstaGo’ was able to make it back-to-back Twin final tables as they took their form from the Royal into the Flush. Unfortunately for them, however, they were unable to pull off an incredible double victory after they exited in third place for $3,187, taking their Twin Events winnings to a cool $8,938.
There was also a second silver medal for Ireland as ‘LeggySusie’ took the runners-up spot for $4,599 after they agreed to a heads-up deal with the eventual champion ‘Sluuut123’ from Sweden, who banked $5,663.
