Day 6 of 888poker's XL Inferno brought out all the High Rollers.

After a massive Sunday, 888poker’s spring championship series, XL Inferno, took a bit of a breather on Monday. Understanding that many players may take the beginning of the week off, the XL Inferno toned the schedule down, but still catered to those who remain on the grind by featuring two tournaments and $55,000 worth of guarantees.

Event #14 – $40,000 Rebuy & Add-On

The larger of the two tournaments on tap had 361 players post the $55 buy-in with 350 rebuys and 178 add-ons. Altogether the fast-action tournament bested the guarantee and pushed the prize pool to $44,450. Eight of the final nine players added at least four-figures to their bankroll.

PocketFivers went one-two in the main contest of the day. ’GoFighter’, the #1-ranked player in all of Belarus, took down the tournament and took home the largest score of the day with his $8,530 first place prize. He overcame the efforts of runner-up ‘cuadrado12’, Sweden’s #11-ranked grinder, who finished the contest by taking home $6,334.

‘GoFighter’ sits just outside the PocketFives Worldwide Top 100, currently ranked #125 in the world and is rapidly working his way to the milestone of $1 million in lifetime earnings. For his part, ‘cuadrado12’ adds to his over $2.6 million in lifetime earnings and with the score, looked to continue his climb inside the Worldwide Top 100 from his current rank of #94.

2017 XL Eclipse Champion ‘Farrugia_1’ from Malta made a run at the final table but bowed out in sixth place for $2,489.

Event #15 – $15,000 Mini Rebuy & Add-on

Of the few tournaments that have provided overlay, it hasn’t traditionally been those with a more manageable buy-in. But on this Monday, the $5 barely missed the mark and was not able to exceed the promised $15,000.

That said, plenty of players enjoyed the added value as 1,159 runners managed 1,247 rebuys and 517 add-ons. In the end, the top four were going to turn their $5 purchases into over $1,000 paydays.

PocketFiver Filipe ‘Ov3rTiLt’ Sampaio outlasted the entire field, raking in $2,589 for first place. The XL Inferno prize will be added to his over $430,000 in lifetime earnings as he celebrated a score that ranks in the top 5 of 2018 for him on his Instagram page.

Ukrainian ‘YAMAHA1311’ finished in second place, earning $1,875 for his tournament.

The High Rollers finally get to jump into the XL Inferno action on Tuesday as three events will get underway including the $2,600 $200,000 High Roller. Some of the biggest names in the online poker game should be mixing it up for some five-figure scores.
