If this were the game show “Jeopardy,” the answer to the title of this article would be, “What does stanman420(pictured) enjoy doing outside of poker?” Yes, it’s quite an eclectic list. I like hiking and sports too, but I don’t know that I have time to do both and do yoga, travel, and hit up some philosophy. Oh yeah, stanman420 did all of that and got his $2 million cash badge on PocketFives. Amazing.

“It feels great,” he told PocketFives of his new badge, “especially given the fact that I haven’t been playing online much this year. Instead, I have been traveling around playing live. I have also been traveling out of the country to play in big online series like WCOOP and SCOOP.”

For live events, you can find stanman420 at Borgatain Atlantic City. In fact, according to the Hendon Mob, he has $156,000 in live tournament scores, $45,000 of which came via making the final three tables of the WSOP Millionaire Maker in Las Vegas this year. He told us, “I was running very badly about 11 months ago in Costa Rica, so I decided to move home for a little bit. I started playing cash games at Foxwoods and decided to go to Borgata for one of their WPTs.”

He explained, “I got 13th in Borgata’s first $500 buy-in tournament, which had a $2 million guarantee, for $13,000. The next day, I played the $400 buy-in $200,000 Guarantee and won it two days later for $66,000.”

Moving back from Costa Rica had a profound impact on his game. As he put it, “Moving back was great for my mindset. I got to focus on working out and building my bankroll back up. And it was nice to take a break from the crazy Latin women.” He is currently #555 worldwide in the PocketFives Rankings and nearly cracked the top 100 in 2011.

Did we mention he likes traveling? Not only is he back in Costa Rica, but before that, he was on a trip to Guatemala for SCOOP and then went to Las Vegas for the WSOP. After the annual tournament series, stanman420 headed to California for a month.

Online, stanman420 won the PokerStars Sunday 500in 2010 and walked off with $88,000, his largest tracked score to date. One year later, he took down the $1K Monday for $82,000. All told, he has 2,667 tracked in the money finishes in online MTTs for $2.1 million total, an average of $786 apiece.

Back in the live world, stanman420 plays a lot of $2/$5 No Limit Hold’em and a little $5/$10 when the opportunity presents itself. He relayed, “It has been great. I haven’t had a losing session at Foxwoods in like 20 sessions.”
