1. massive taxes and the fees that will have to be paid to the leagues almost guarantee that it wont be close to -110.

    Guess we will see.

Might not be apples to apples but the money might not be the hard part. Haha

Here are some examples of what the state requires in the 81-page "Request for Applications" released last week:

165 different pieces of information, or "exhibits," including a business plan; market analysis; capital and financing structure; marketing plans; infrastructure requirements; internal controls and security systems; player database and loyalty program; construction timeline, affirmative action plan; and experience hiring the unemployed
A $1 million application fee must be paid by April 23, even though the application itself isn't due until June 30

    Then

If the fee is paid, but an application isn't finished or submitted by June 30, the state will return the fee minus any costs incurred.

A minimum $50 million licensing fee in the Albany/Saratoga region, which must be paid within 30 days of getting the license (applicants can pay more if they want).

so there is precedent for governments fucking this up as i am predicting will happen... maybe not full parlay retardation, but expecting competitive odds is unrealistic

Na, that was just deleware circumventing the sports betting laws by calling it the lottery. They legally werent allowed to offer single bets (i think)

Like, the back of the ticket would have the Delaware state lottery logo on it like you were buying a powerball ticket.

  7. i was wondering why people were spending money in AC (the 2 new casinos opening up next month). I guess they think this is going to cause a boom in NJ gambling. I know one of the new casinos is building a nice sports book room - was wondering why they were spending money on that. Makes sense now.

  10. Looks like the cost of regulation will be borne by the host casino's so they will probably defray that cost by adjusting the odds. Instead of The Bears being 90 to 1 to win the Superbowl they will be (say) 75 to 1 instead. Similarly, states will tax this shit. I'm guessing they'll take 7% to 10 % from winning bet payouts.

Don't give up your offshore quite yet............

Go bet your -120/-130 that will take place in NYS betting sites.

Number books exist cause they offer 700-1 on pick 3 games NYS the greed 500-1.

It is a nice verdict, will create jobs, but don't think for a second bookmakers are scared.

  18. Well that didnt take long.

Churchill Downs just signed a deal with Golden Nugget and SBTech to run a casino and sportsbook in NJ.

The way the online casinos work here is you need to combined with a land based casino. Didnt think someone would get that done in two days, but I like it.

Churchill is in the ownership group a few tracks like Arlington that have been fighting for slots for 20 years.

For the last couple years you can now walk out of Arlington walk across the street and play slots all day at the little slot place but the FUCKING RACETRACK cannot have any other gambling going on

    Illinois folks.

So yea I imagine Churchill could nit be ore excited.

  20. N.J. can forget immediate legal sports betting. Here's why.

Hold onto your bets, sports fans.

Monmouth Park's plan to become the first place in New Jersey to offer legalized sports betting on May 28 -- Memorial Day -- has hit a wall, NJ Advance Media has learned.
