Shove or Fold?

Question

  • 0

This is with 47 left as the smallest stack in the 500r wcoop (but doesnt rly matter i guess). I felt like this is a standard reshove with my stack (cause of being unlucky a lot and getting no cards) but i tryed a few things in pokerstove and its like i dont crush any raising range there. do u guys fold here?? always feelin so guilty when i bust by making a bad play so i have to know!

well it's a reg with 50bb. i think i crush my own raising range there with only 2 smallish stacks on the table who could reshove. my main problem is that i reshoved due to being frustrated of suckouts and being card dead. since AQo would be a no-brainer shove there imo i think AJo is pretty close.

ok that shove was a mistake... im even slightly behind with AQo vs that range:

22+,ATs+,KJs+,QJs,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,AJo+,KQo

which is probably wider than it should be...

so, could anybody get away from AQo in the same spot? or is anybody saying AJ is a shove there?

this is a standard spot that appears often, u really dont need to know anything about villain here. if he was running on 5/5 over 1k hands i would write it, i didnt see anything crazy from him thats all i can say. and if i knew anything about him i would write it. if it was the bubble i would write it. if ive seen him folding to a 10bb shove i would write it. wtf man? like its a crime not to know anything about somebody. i never was deep with him in a tourney before. what do u expect from me? if i had the information u demand i wouldnt post this hand here, if i dont post infos i want to know it from a mathematical point of view. and there are only 2 types of players: those who have K7o in their range there and those who havent. and since its a random reg and we both dont know anything about him he most likely hasnt K7o in his range.

I hope so im doing this correctly :/ AQo is rly slightly behind there. but guess its a shove cause it is possible that he folds. unlikely but still possible. i could get away from AJ if i wasnt so frustrated and drunk (seemed like a 50/50 decision so i went for it), but dont think i could fold AQo. problem is that range could be a bit too wide. either its much tighter than this or similar to this, so AQ still feels like gambling somehow.

Why should i offend u man? :) I agree with you. But with 20% of my stack in the pot 45% equity is not that bad i guess and the shove is either right or its very close. Dont know how to do the math here in combination with positions and fold equity, but because i think i gave him a too wide range i feel like a fold is better, and AQ, like the degen said, is a shove.

Oh... Everybody who posts here is kinda sure that its an easy shove or an easy fold. It's not easy at all imo. So more thoughts appreciated.

Pro shoving: his healthy stack which allows him to raise low PP and SC typa hands, and of course my shitty stack which im desperate with to double up soon

Contra shoving: my equity of only 40-45% even against a loosish range

Still lean towards folding, in lp easy get in. Vs pkaiser who raises K7o from utg with 15bb, easy get in.

very borderline in my opinion, just about gonna make a difficult fold here :/

You have a decent re-raising stack, just about enough to make some of the players fold, especially seat 2: jakek38 (86269 in chips), Seat 3: mcnallyville (142953 in chips), Seat 4: rockstar2 (150814 in chips), Seat 5: huiiiiiiiiii (116504 in chips).

I realise that jakek will probs shove instead of open raise and will probs call if you do re-raise if he open raises, but I would be looking to see if any of these players opened (seat 2,3,4 or 5) and then shoving over them, because your stack can only really hurt these people, and they might make more folds than the deeper stacked players, so your shove would have more fold equity, making AJ against those players a shove compared to a borderline fold.

I think godfatti was a bad villain to choose because your stack really doesn't hurt him. So this would mean that the borderline fold of AJ here against a randomer, would be more of a certain fold looking at the stack sizes, and realising that there are better victims of your re-raise than the deep-stacked player.

I would probs just about play AQ against him just due to the fold equity against him because you probably have some, just not as much as against the other villains I listed above.
