I do not know much about the villan. I have a tight aggressive image. I do not run a hud so no real info on the villan.

You hold the Ad so if he's on a fd it's more likely he's on the hearts draw so unless he's stubbornly calling you down with JJ/QQ (but QQ might 4b pre) which would just be stupid - but maybe possible, or he has the case A he will fold to your river shove - possible but unlikely he is passively playing an underset which could call. In short, your check back probably is not bad given your lack of info on villain and the somewhat narrow range you can extract thin value from and the fact that if he does have a weak made flush he will not be folding when you bet. This is just my opinion and I am by no means an authority on the subject.

Hving said that betting the river would also not be bad but I would expect a fold most of the time unless villain is spewy, which he could be, so while I don't think the check back is really bad I'd probably bet and hope he has an unlikely value hand (2pair, underset, Ax) which can call.

I believe so, yes. Preflop action seems fine, could maybe 3bet a little bigger to like 7800-8400 or so. Turn sizing is a bit small also, essentially a min raise with change - somewhere around the 28k perhaps. Too tired now to go counting out the pot but I'd be looking to set myself for a roughly pot sized riv jam, or a bit less if possible.

What would you have done if he jammed the river, or bet a chunky amount, fold? I think we're way too strong for that unless there's reason to believe villain is only ever firing with a flush or a straight. Straights are few and far between so we want to get value from all the weaker hands he could have - sets, weird 2p type, random-spews, JJ-KK (unlikely as Cage says, but not impossible). I would fire the river myself, even if that means a jam for pot or just shy thereof.

so super rare a flush catch checks here.......... bet this river 100% we will make more $ in the long run then not. On the turn he was so willing to pop that bet we need him to pay more 25-30k imo . we want to try and gain stacks to win these things dont let these opportunities slip by. GLGL

I agree with the others in that I would bet the river.

All I have to add is to remember you checked the flop, giving him licence to bet the turn for value or with a draw. BUT he does call your raise on the turn so I would assume he had something to call a river bet.

As double_kyan said, if he had the flush, he would probably have bet the river.

I'm always betting this river. Feel like villain is very rarely checking his flush on that river, and quite frankly going into the river if I'm not folding to a bet, I'm betting here. As other said, hope we can get some value from his unlikely value hands for us. So pretty much, nothing no one else said LOL
