Personally, I'm glad Duke took the loss. It was to a team expected to contend for the National Championship and now wont have deal with "will they lose again" chatter. Obviously, they were gonna lose a game. Might give the team a dose of reality. Something I am sure they haven't had since stepping on Campus.

I didn't think we were going to get NET rankings given throughout the whole season. I figured it would just be around March like how college football does it, although when you see Ohio St 1st it will generate some chatter. However, OSU has won @ Cincy and @ Creighton. some tough environments to walk out with a win. Be interesting to see how these NET rankings weigh on the actual brackets.

it should normalize with more games also but its just a really bad look on the outset. Article says weighs margin of win/defeat weighted but only by max of 10. Seesm kinda dumb

from article on ESPN:

Among the critics of the new system Monday was statistician Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight, who called the first list "the worst rankings I've ever seen in any sport, ever."

however, ESPN's own power rankings has Kansas #1, despite Gonzaga beating Duke

Ya, once teams play their conference schedule and get quality road wins I am sure it will normalize. Like I said earlier, ill be curious to the weight the NET rating will hold on actual seedings come selection Sunday. Anywho, Big Ten/ACC challenge this week 1-1 with Clemson and Minnesota catching Ls on Monday. Big tilt tonight Duke/Indiana and i curious to see Michigan/UNC on Wednesday. Another road game for the heels (already using the NET ratings in their favour.)

Also, what is up with Oregon. Losing by 5 to a 1-4 SWAC team....fwov9X

I doubt the selection committee is gonna pay much attention to some brand new metric

Shit. A lot of them still love RPI. They’re just now starting to pay attention to kenpom and stuff like that. Seriously doubt they’re these metric geeks who are gonna be paying attention to some new tool.
