My favorite thing to do in OT now is to mention the car sales thing and then watch the tumbleweeds roll by.   It’s fucking good to be me.

What’s wrong with selling cars if one has success in doing so? Stop trying so hard.

Early bird and killing bird are the two biggest trolls on this site. I must admit they are pretty good at it though.

HAS NATURAL IMMUNITY BEEN “DISAPPEARED” FROM SCIENCE? Until Nov 2020, natural immunity tied to human innate & adaptive/acquired immune system, was recognized as a key for herd immunity against new pathogens. Now we hear ONLY vaccine counts, which can’t be. Let’s explore...

E2owKFoVEAI2oG2?format=jpg&name=4096x409

First let’s look at WHO Herd Immunity evolution, last 6 mo.
A) Pre-Covid. Natural & Vaccine credited equally for herd.
B) Nov 2020. Natural infection removed; vax only credited.
C) Dec 2020. Natural put back but no herd credit – vax mentioned 18x.

E2ow3IxVkAAPYvo?format=png&name=large

PRE-EXISTING T-CELL [1]. We also learn that this type of immunity is durable. Nature article July 2020 says, “patients …possess long-lasting memory T cells that are reactive to the N protein of SARS-CoV 17 years after the outbreak of SARS in 2003

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2550-z

WHEN IS HERD IMMUNITY REACHED FOR SARS-COV-2? According to WHO & CDC, the number is in 60-70% range. However, the NYT reported that in 2021 Fauci changed it during TV interviews, first to “70, 75%” then 3 weeks later, “75, 80, 85%”. Feels arbitrary.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/24/health/herd-immunity-covid-coronavirus.html

EXPLANATION B. This one follows the prevailing narrative from Fauci, CDC, WHO, MSM. It suggests full credit goes to vaccination. But a reasonable scientific question – How can this possibly work backwards in time? You can decide between A and B, or maybe something else. (?)

E2o1XOeUYAoG-O3?format=jpg&name=4096x409

EXPLANATION A. What gets credit for significant drop in SARS-CoV-2 infections mid-Jan until today. Explanation “A” credits Natural & prior infection for big drop, and shared credit between Natural & Vaccine for continued drop, based logically on timing and volumes shown.

Yesterday the mask restrictions were lifted here and pretty much back to normal.  Went to grocery store today and I would guess it was 50/50 people who wore masks.  Felt like every person I passed that was wearing a mask shot me a dirty look.  Fuck'em.

Been a couple weeks now. Still easily 70 oercent people with masks. Slowly startong to line up with whos vaccinated. Its all a mental thing now which people will get over soon. Probably by the end of summer.

I went to the Indy 500 on Sunday. You had to wear a mask to get in the gate. Once in the number of masked people was roughly 2% to 5%.  Those Indiana hillbillies are so over covid. I pray it doesn't return.

Take a step back and marvel at the creation and distribution of the vaccine in our country. Truly the best of the private and public sectors. 🙏🇺🇸

Thanks, Trump!

Trump authorized it's rapid creation. When Biden was transitioning into power it was discovered that there was virtually no distribution set up for a product that needed freezing.

How bout some facts.........

Nah he just goes out and complains about the other people enjoying their life. What a miserable existence it must be. Funny that we all know he would never call one of them a hillbilly but as soon as he gets home he runs to the internet calling them that.

That's a silly narrative. Many meds must be stored at specific temperatures. There are setups for that in literally every clinic, dr office, hospital, pharmacy... etc. Think a little for yourself occasionally.

Yup. Removing red tape and getting things fast tracked was huge. Biden's team has done an incredible job with distribution. It's victory for both administrations. It's victory for small government and big government. It's victory for the United States when you look at our supply, the deals we made with Pfizer and Moderna and our success compared to the rest of the world.

We're so wrapped up in partisan politics that we're not allowed to celebrate an accomplishment of both parties and the country as a whole. You can't be patriotic unless you're on one side or the other. This is an America Fuck Yeah accomplishment.

sheep, I don't want this to come off the wrong way but don't you think the 2 parties have shown over the past few years that only one of them cares about "America Fuck Yeah" while one of them calls anyone who has the stance of "America Fuck Yeah" xenophobic?

From my view, that's exactly what has caused the divide.  You are no longer allowed to be proud of your country.. That's called "nationalism" and is one reason Republicans are looked down upon.  I know you may look at what I wrote and want to blame this line of thinking on conservatives but try to look at it unbiased.  I've never seen a conservative called out a liberal for being patriotic.  Hell, some on your "side" don't believe in the concept of America and claim we are on stolen land.

So yes, we are wrapped up in partisan politics but it's one side that loves their country and believes in "America Fuck Yeah" while the other side hates their country (and the people who reside in it) and actively dissuades the "American Fuck Yeah" mentality.

I think it goes both ways. I think the extremes on both sides have blurred the line of what it means to be a proud American and to be proud of America. One extreme (the far right) has hijacked the stars and stripes and has made the flag out to be a symbol of the way things were and is right in line with the Trump slogan of MAGA. The other extreme (the far left) actively hates individual liberty and the history of our country - no doubt you won't see them flying the flag on their front porch.

For me...I can be patriotic without wearing red white and blue and flying a flag on my car. I'm a diehard Seahawks fan; I don't wear Seahawks gear. There are different ways to love the country and what the flag represents. The extremes blur what that means. I think it's okay for liberals to want the flag to represent the concept of a melting pot and equality - that doesn't necessarily mean socialism. I think it's okay for conservatives to want the flag to represent individual liberty and history - that doesn't necessarily mean white nationalism.

So I guess to answer your question - there are different ways to define and demonstrate patriotism. The extremes on both sides are guilty of blurring that definition.

West Virginia To Give Away Guns As Covid-19 Vaccine Incentive

As states throughout the U.S. launch campaigns to try and convince residents to get the Covid-19 vaccine— with million dollar lotteries, college scholarships, free beer, and amusement park tickets topping the list — West Virginia has come up with a lottery scheme all its own: giving the newly-vaccinated the chance to win not just money, but rifles and shotguns.

The state will give away five custom hunting rifles and five custom shotguns through its lottery, with the drawings taking place on June 20 for Fathers Day.

There will be a series of lottery drawings taking place weekly from June 20 through August 4, for which any West Virginian who’s received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will be eligible to register.

The lottery will also give one resident $1 million—as other states have done—along with prizes like full-ride scholarships, custom trucks and lifetime hunting and fishing licenses.

In addition to its lottery, West Virginia is also giving away $100 in savings bonds or gift cards to everyone ages 16-35 in the state who is fully vaccinated.

BIG NUMBER
51.1%. That’s the percentage of West Virginians who have so far received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, according to the state’s health department—or approximately 915,000 people—with 41.2% fully vaccinated. The New York Times’ ranking of state vaccination data finds the state has among the lower vaccination rates in the country, and polling shows there are high rates of vaccine hesitancy among its residents. A Morning Consult poll conducted between March 20 and April 19 found 28% of West Virginians were unwilling to get the Covid-19 vaccine, among the highest share of any state in the country.

SURPRISING FACT

West Virginia’s giveaway isn’t the only vaccine incentive related to guns: Illinois has also set up a mobile vaccination site at a shooting range in the state and is giving away 100 free targets to anyone who gets the vaccine there.
