The bubble is an imaginary point of time in a tournament, what counts are the 3 first places of a tournament, generally the prize payouts will tell you that, anything below is not worth to aim for, if you place in the money but not in the 3 first places this will not account for much in your overall statistics, assumed of course that you're playing in your right buy-in level. But even if you take a shot in some higher event you should aim for the top-3 places and ignore all other considerations; if the high buy-in bothers you then play at your affordable level.

What's not imaginary however is how players react to the bubble, they may tighten-up considerably giving you the possibility to overrun them which you should do without being afraid, be alert to spot these players. After the bubble, generally players will loosen-up and you must be more careful.

For SNGs, your ROI is very important, in fact you must hit 35%-45% ITM on average in these events to be successful, preferably with more 1st and 2nd finishes than 3rd places (speaking for a 10 or 9-men table with top 3 prizes).

Hope this helps, greetings,
