  1. Warning: this is going to be long. (that's what he said)... For those who have noticed my extended absence and haven't been able to really enjoy their lives without worrying about me, I figured I'd surface for a bit today. For those of you wo only recently signed up for OT for the riveting political discussion, I used to be a big deal around here, living in Okinawa and shipping exotic snack boxes to roundeyes while making poor poker staking decisions, and may or may not have dated a girl off the Wendy's dollar menu. Friday before Memorial Day I still had some annoying respiratory issue that wouldn't go away, and the Sudafed I'd been taking was making it worse. I told my boss I was going to the walk in clinic to try and get something better, and I'd be back in a bit. After a negative covid test, they let me in and take my blood pressure. then she says those words everyone hopes their doc will say: "Mr. Koblyn, sorry I'm a huge fan of the OT Times. You need to go to the ER right now. Can you do more kellykip korner's?" Back when Dolphin died, I remember kip posting that his story had made him start going to the doctor where he was able to get on meds to prevent blood pressure issues he didn't know he had. Probably should've followed suit, but I ain't no hipster so I stayed away and let my shit build up for a few more years. Get to the ER and they're like "how the fuck are you alive?" Blood pressure off the charts. Heart pumping critically low. Are you aware your kidneys aren't working? Do you think AaronHacker is real? Got transferred to a different hospital. Docs flipped a coin and decided to put me in cardiac wing. Day 2, woke up to find some sick fuck had taken a black curtain and put it over my left eye to take away 96% of my vision. I told the nurse and 16 people come running in the room. He must've had a stroke. That's gotta be a stroke. Isn't he the one who catfished bfactor? has to be a stroke. I'd like to stroke that. Can you grab my hands and push? you're still strong, but it's gotta be a stroke. let's do an MRI to prove it's a stroke. MRI: this is not a stroke you fucks. Everyone else: but if it was a stroke, we'd have been right. we're going to move you to the stroke wing. Day 3 - 12: heart isn't working right because of high blood pressure, which either caused or was caused by kidney failure. best case scenario is kidneys are fine once BP gets under control, but can't find out for 5 days since they wouldn't do a biopsy on me until 5 days of no aspirin. to hold me over while waiting, I got a catheter put in the chest for dialysis, 2 more MRIs, a cat scan, steroids, spinal tap, and a marathon of guy's grocery games. Finally the biopsy tells us what we'd all be hoping for...irreversible kidney damage, 3 days dialysis a week until a kidney donor can be found. the good news is we can now send you home. here's 13 prescriptions, a diet guide so as not to die from eating sodium, phosphorus, or bananas, something to pee in from bed, and a walker. yes, yes, you'll need that...you haven't walked in 12 days you lazy fuck. oh right one more thing....don't ever drink more than 1500ml of liquid in a day or you'll probably die. yes, anything that can melt into a liquid counts. wait...your semen or someone elses? either way don't go over 1500. current status: dialysis fucking sucks, but I'm getting better at it. go to an outpatient place 3x week which is basically a converted hair salon for immigrant women who spoke too little english to get that cleaning lady job Biden promised them. Aside from not being told to skip my BP medication as it caused me to drop low enough to pass out unattended for 3 hours and have to be carried into my house by my fucking father, it's a pretty good place. found out I was a really popular dude. hundreds of people reaching out to my wife for support. people I haven't seen in 10 years are sending dinners so she doesn't have to cook. my parents are keeping my kids occupied and will likely take them away soon so my wife can focus on managing all my appointments while reading labels to make sure I don't eat something that causes sudden death. vision back 80% and getting better with my roids, BP staying under control, physical therapy just started and I'm making that fucker push me hard. he came with a light plan and I told him to kick my ass. I wanted to die when he left but holy shit it felt great. I'm going to own this shit. this is starting to ramble, and I need to go plug my chest tube into a machine to suck out my blood and clean it. i'll be back to check the tumbleweeds and Trump arguments later. I feel like I'm in a good spot now but would love to use this thread as a pick me up when needed. if interested in helping, you may do so by the following: PMs: donkwood epic chops: post itt hand histories: pm JB kidney donor tests: www.rush.com/koblyn/

  3. I’m biased. I hate rioters more than Kyle, so this is entertaining for me to watch. I’m rooting for a not guilty verdict because it will be hilarious to watch the reactions of the outraged left that refuse to acknowledge that riots are the problem in this case. No riots, no Kyle the girl hitting armed vigilante. And no, there is nothing before the riots that matter in the context of these Kenosha riots. The riots were a disproportionate reaction to a justified shooting by a cop. Call me bitter, I’ll accept that. Watching rioters burn multiple cities and the cops doing virtually nothing about it made me this way. If Kyle was shooting random people and hunting black people like the media wants you to believe, then I would absolutely want him to be in prison for life.

  4. I don't want Trump or Hillary to run. Trump can't win. Yes, I said it. Trump CAN'T win again. Hillary would just be even more corrupt than the shit we have now, which is corrupt as fuck with the manchurian idiot we have in the White House right now. Clinton's have more bodies piled up than the Civil War's Antietam. We need 2 fresh faces running, representing the best of each party. We DON'T need people in their 70's+ running for President as the nominated candidate by any major party. Give me a couple of 45-50 year olds with class and style, and let them debate the finer points of opposing views. Then let the people vote. Tired of the corrupt political circus we've had since 1996.

  9. Ok, he missed the mark entirely! First, he had to wait 4 days for somebody to write a speech for him. One of his handlers wrote every single word of a speech that he read on a teleprompter. He didn't deviate, didn't move his head, and couldn't have missed the mark anymore than "he" (or whoever wrote the stupid thing) did. This isn't about whether we should or should not have withdrawn from Afghanistan. I've been saying for years that we didn't need to be there anymore, and it was an unwinnable war. This is about the complete and competence with which the withdrawal has been handled. It's absolutely absurd what is happening right now, and all of it can be laid directly at his feet. He wants to stand up there and say the buck stops here. Well fucking choke on it, Hidin' Biden. He stood up there and talked about reasons they did not have a better withdrawal strategy, and he blamed the Afghani government for not doing his job. We didn't do a good enough job, even though we wanted to, because they were afraid it wouldn't look right. Get the fuck out of here. Start a crisis because we are doing what we said we were going to do? Not do it correctly, risk all of the lives, have people falling off of planes, have people that have worked with the United States for years be hunted down door to door and killed along with their families, have Americans trapped in a foreign country that is now controlled by a regime who is implementing Sharia law, all because the people that we have poured so much into over the last two decades didn't want things to look bad. Not doing the right thing, the right way, because somebody else is afraid of how it might play out, is the definition of weak ass leadership. Your obligation is to the United States, and those who have helped us in the mission for the last 20 years. If you really believe the Afghani people need to be able to support and defend themselves, then make it withdrawal plan that includes them and make sure everybody understands how it's going to play out. What a shitty ass speech. Then you walk away without taking a single question? He read a 20 minute speech off of a fucking teleprompter. This was a speech he didn't contribute to at all. He did exactly what his puppet masters told him to do. The only thing he displayed today was an ability to read for about 20 minutes. They even had pre-selected media outlets with pre-screened questions ready to go, and he couldn't even be bothered to stay there and take the questions. This is not leadership. This is disgraceful. I'm embarrassed for our country.

  10. Definitely time in the United States to ditch all safety precautions and go back to normal. If you aren't vaccinated by now, that's very likely your prerogative. I don't need health experts warning vaccinated people about the dangers of variants to unvaccinated people. Measures taken during this pandemic were to protect the unprotected. If you got Covid, that put your fellow neighbors in danger. Now? Vaccines are a personal choice. That's a decision for individuals to make on their own liberty. It's different than being forced to wear a mask or comply to capacity limits or curfews - those personal decisions affected a greater whole. The unvaccinated don't want to be protected from Covid. That's their choice. It's clear and obvious. They don't want to listen to health experts on this topic, and that's fine. So who are we protecting now inside our own borders? Let's fucking gooooo!

  15. At this point, who hasn't spread misinformation about covid? CDC, WHO, NIH all guilty. Asymptomatic people can't spread it was the first one that harmed public safety. Should they have blocked people for saying it came from a lab? They did, now it looks very likely. They actually blocked the truth. Like I said, I don't care what twitter does other than I get to bitch about it on a poker forum, which is nice.

  17. California, NY, NJ, Mich, Penn have all taken turns with their bad/good numbers. All have been under strict mandates that have done more harm than good, financially, emotionally, politically. Especially when those making these mandates don't follow them themselves. ANY governor that forced nursing homes to take covid people should be charged with manslaughter for each case and be locked up. These measures ABSOLUTELY killed people and that is indisputable fact. Nursing homes send contagious people to hospitals to protect the other residents, not the other way around.

  19. The vaccine mandate for large private businesses is definitely government overreach.

  20. I think more people would get vaccinated without force/mandates being applied. Gentle persuasion rather than force would work better. I have actually seen this approach work in private businesses. I haven't been following this as closely as some of you, but if you can still spread the COVID even if you are vaccinated, aren't we doing this mandate stuff to protect the non-vaccinated from themselves? Maybe I am missing something. Mandates are concerning. What will be required next for people to go to work? Whatever the government and ruling elites deem important to society under the guise of public safety? Seems a bit authoritarian to me. Mandates are what really turns this political, imo. It is an interesting juxtaposition that in the fall of 2020 (pre election) Republicans were all in on fast tracking the vaccine and Democrats were vehemently opposed to the Trump vaccine. Now it seems to be the other way around. Part of the explanation may be that Republicans are, for the most part, not against the vaccine or getting the vaccine, but are against people losing their jobs and the negative effect on the economy because of the mandates.

  21. Or compare long term experience of standard vaccines to Gene Therapy non vaccines that have never before been used and let's also experiment on pre pubescents and hope their hormones and eventual offspring aren't fucked up from this new EXPERIMENT

  22. This is where you and many on the left are dead wrong, incorrectly projecting your team bias onto those who oppose your views. I personally am against mandates that invade my freedom. I am for mandates that prevent others from doing so. I do not care what color tie the person wears who makes the mandate.

  25. In less than five months, Joe Biden has brought this country to the brink. After years of cowering under Donald Trump, terrorism is back and proud. Peace in the Middle East, one of Trump’s most spectacular achievements has been shattered. Biden simply unfroze billions of dollars of sanctioned money for Iran and topped it off with a quick 135 million dollar love gift. Within days Hamas rockets were raining down on Israel and Jews were being attacked on the streets of American cities. Four years of peace under Trump were in the past. For some anti-Semites in Biden’s Democratic Party the death rate in Israel was not good enough. A writer, working for CNN, tweeted, “the world today needs a Hitler.” After pressure, CNN ended their seven-year relationship with the writer. Twitter, which banned former president, Donald Trump, and censors this writer, has apparently allowed 17,000 pro Hitler tweets. Biden crippled American energy independence with the stroke of a pen, ending the Keystone pipeline and roughly 11,000 jobs. Six presidents had desperately sought energy independence before Trump had finally succeeded. Allegedly Russian hackers were allowed to shut down the Colonial Oil pipeline which supplied gas to the east coast of America. Biden rewarded Russia afterward by lifting sanctions against their own gas pipeline to Germany. Biden followers, buoyed by an adoring media were philosophical. “Who needs jobs anyway?” they crowed. See? Communism works. Or, at least, the American corporate version of communism works. Small businesses couldn’t find workers to hire. They were being paid by the government to do nothing. It was keeping the big multinational corporate monopolies fat. The teacher’s union demanded more money for its members, even while insisting that all schools remain closed. When gasoline shortages caused cars to line up at stations across the East coast for the first time since Jimmy Carter, the Biden White House cheered. People should buy electric cars anyway, they said. It is better for the environment. As it turns out, the gasoline shortages caused prices of everything else to climb. Once again, in a Jimmy Carter redux, America began to experience inflation. 4.2% for the month of April, 2021. Biden’s promise that only the rich would be taxed rang hollow. It is the poor and the senior citizens who are crushed by inflation. The American Border with Mexico was turned into a drama of child trafficking and children as young as four years old, left without water in the desert. People who had feigned concern for illegal immigrants in cages now ignored the plight of thousands. Border agents announced they had confiscated three years of drugs in one month. Still, Biden blamed it all on Donald Trump, even though Biden, himself, had invited the problem by stopping the building of the wall, announcing his “open border” policy and ending the carefully negotiated “remain in Mexico agreement.” Thousands of illegals showed up at the border wearing “Biden” t-shirts. A president who ostentatiously used a mask when doing zoom conference calls and kept children from going to school, was now allowing immigrants with COVID into the country unhindered. They were put on planes and buses and sent to places across America. It was collateral damage, part of the price to bring in more votes for the Democratic Party. We have to change Arizona and Texas. We have to take back the Supreme Court. Biden was asked about his Republican opponent in 2024. “I don’t know if there will be a Republican Party,” he answered. It was an ominous observation. The FBI was ordered to conduct an early morning raid on the attorney representing his political opponent. The IRS was beefed up with a huge budget. They would likely be turned loose on political enemies as they had operated under Obama. Some of the great legacies of the Trump presidency remain conspicuously unchallenged. Don’t expect Joe Biden to interfere with the remake of the Veteran’s Administration although he will use Big Tech search engines to give himself the credit.
