  1. Hi Matt, Just unlucky as you said, I agree with opening smaller as the blinds get bigger. Cheers

    Fresh start

Played for 2-3 years with little success, taken a year out, lost the appetite to play, recently started again but want to do it properly in more of a study way. Not sure where to start, so many videos, books out there, I'd like to learn more about ev, push/fold charts, brm etc. Even though I'm not a novice I still feel a little lost like I need a structured programme, any online courses or advice? Cheers Chapps30
  6. Hit the nail on the head, it doesn't matter how many books you've read, videos you've watched, coaching you've had, it's pure luck. As long as you have the basics down, your AA, KKs are gonna get cracked by some idiot who plays any hand, the hard thing is to get over it. I've lost count the amount of times i've played a good game for 3-4 hrs to get my "better" hand smashed by shit.
  7. Rebuy had finished, don't mind anyone calling but 10 2 o/s, really?
  8. So rigged, I mean why would he call with this??? http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-hands/Boom/12792825_F7EDCACFFC
  9. Personally i think i could've played it either way, all advice is good.
  10. Nice advice, cheers all
  11. http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-hands/Boom/12566188_E0F99D24F1 Does he have a set? Maybe JJs or better?
  12. This has been going on for a while.
  13. I wasn't getting it in with 75 o/s you noobs, this is what i'm loosing against, doh!!!
  14. The classic line is "it's just variance or read a book"
  15. I've lost count of the times I've had the best hand going all in, to lose to a random 75 o/s, do people still think skill is involved? Once you have the basics, position, stack sizes etc then unless you run like Moorman it's pure luck. Discuss.
  16. Just looked back at it, his flop bet of $250 into a pot of $1680 looks weak, then my re-raise of $500 looks even worse, maybe £1100 would have scared him off? He was very aggro and playing a lot of hands, so with hindsight i probably was way ahead. I have the thought process of an amateur, any pro would have called, practice makes perfect. Ended up going out losing my AK into AA. Cheers for your thoughts. (any free coaching is appreciated!!)
  17. http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-hands/Boom/10771418_1979904408 Did he have 10's, A10, Ax?
  18. 150,000/300,000 50k
  19. Just looking back at Craig McCorkell's elimination, gutted he didn't make the November 9, his busted hand, all-in K5 suited on the button for 4,425,000 with Mark Newhouse calling on the SB with A9 o/s, with his stack of 14,270,000. Mark taking the pot A high, a wise shove?

    Good call?

So 3 betting on the button (with AQ)someone who min raises (with AK) is wrong? I should have shoved? And he would of called, and beaten me!!
  22. Chapps30

    Good call?

That's blown my "range" reading out the window then, i would never min raise with AK, every video and book are mostly 3x.
